Crazy hour?

Laura, on March 25, 2015 at 5:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

On the thread about dancing, someone mentioned having a crazy hour. That sounds fun. Are you doing one? Have you been to weddings with one? What worked, what didn't? Also, I don't see any companies that offer this in my area, who would I be looking for to come do this? A dance team or something??

There's a comment on this thread saying:

"Well the new trend is to hire people for "Crazy hour", which is basically getting a group of dancers to get your party going! Usually they come in after dinner, after the cake, once it is time to start dancing. They come in with crazy costumes, party favors, crazy hats, lights, confetti and just start dancing and getting people on the dance floor. I've been to 5 weddings with in 2 years, and 4 of them had 'Crazy Hour/Hora Loca", it was so much FUN!! I highly recommend it!"

Oh, I definitely don't need that with my family! We're crazy dancers as is.

Oh shit lol. Ok so it's where after the more formal part of the reception they do something big to get people in the party mood. Some of the things have been having dancers come in, or drummers or other entertainment to come and liven things up. Other people don't hire anyone, but will bring out silly glasses, beaded necklaces and other fun props and have the DJ get it going. In my case, my group would not do much with a "self-made" crazy hour, we'd want the "entertainers" to come in.

I'm having glow sticks, and my friends would all be the people that were hired for crazy hour anyway so i'm not too concerned
