Cowgirl Boots With Wedding dress?

Libby, on November 28, 2015 at 12:03 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

My bridesmaids are all wearing light blue dresses in the same color but different styles, they are also wearing western boots. I've been toying with the idea of wearing boots myself but can't decide if they would be too clunky or not. I used to ride horses and show livestock, so I'm used to wearing them and I know they would be far more comfortable than high-heals. We are getting married in our church and our reception is going to be in my in-laws backyard with rustic chic feel to it. If I were to do the boots they would either be brown with white embellishment or light blue with white embellishment. If I don't wear them I will wear lace heals and probably change into flats. Thoughts?

It's not uncommon for brides to wear boots, and I've seen many a type of boot. So if u want to wear boots go ahead

Maybe wear nice shoes for the church, then change shoes for the reception? Boots in the church is a little much in my opinion.

Just be aware that you probably want the same heel height on the boots as on whatever you wear for the ceremony. Otherwise, your dress length won't work with one or the other.

If your dress is long enough that it hides your feet (as most wedding dresses are), then I'd wear the boots all the time. I wear fall boots or snow boots most of the year, so I probably would have been more comfortable wearing boots the whole time if it hadn't been so hot on our wedding day.

If your dress will show your feet, then I agree with Faith and 2d Bride - get a pair of shoes with a similar heel height to your boots for the ceremony. Since you'll wear them for an hour or less, you won't need to splurge on expensive or comfy shoes Smiley smile

I agree with Faith. Maybe a nice little kitten heel for the ceremony and boots for the reception.

I did it. Ceremony outside though, so wore them the whole time.
