Well well well. Let's just start by agreeing that coronavirus has definitely made it's impact in everyone's lives.
But we aren't letting it stop us from having our wedding next month! June 20th we are still hanging in and we have made quite a bit of adjustments.
My guest list went from 150 to being cut down to less than 100 and now around 50 guests have RSVP, everyone else declined and didnt feel comfortable (totally understandable!). Because of the coronavirus, we are changing out location, we talked with the original venue and weighed out our procs and cons and the cons just were too much conpared to the pros. We don't have enough guests to really do much like we wanted at the venue, plus it would end up us basically giving the venue free money (due to lack of guests and we had to pay for 100 guests no matter what). So, we got lucky. My fiance has a buddy from work who offered to let us use his barn in the beautiful country, (him and his wife actually used their own barn for their own wedding). And get this. . .it's FREE. We only have to figure out catering. And due to not having so many guests, and it's mostly close family members and couple of friends. We are doing simple food. Nothing fancy. Before coronavirus I always dreamt of a big ole wedding and fun. Now coronavirus has seemed to open my eyes to what the real meaning is of marriage and wedding, it isn't about how big of a party you can throw, it's about 2 becoming 1, 2 people who love each other so much, committing to each other through thick and thin. All you need is just the two of you. Because in the end, it'll be each other that you have. I'm ready to walk down the aisle to my fiance and officially be married. I'm glad that it will be the closest family members there to support. P.S. I also got myself a lace bridal mask to match my dress!
