Just Said Yes February 2021

covid Wedding.

So My fiancé and I having been planning this wedding for about a year now, we get married on February 26th. We had our bridal party buy there things, put money down on a photographer, and a lot more. The plans have obviously changed a lot since last year though, due to covid me and fiancé decided to just have a small intimate wedding with just our parents and siblings. We’ve had deaths in the family, and numerous people sick from the outbreak so of course I’m not going to sacrifice anyone’s health for my wedding.

With that being said, would it be so horrible if I got married in February like we planned and had a big reception in August if the ban is lifted? I want like the whole reception experience, plus I don’t want my bridal party to feel like they wasted money on stuff ( b/c it’s non refundable). I don’t care about gifts or anything, I just want to have a first dance, cut my cake, I even bought just a simple white dress that’s just a more relaxed party dress.
What’s your guy’s opinion?

I don't think that's horrible at all! Many people are doing a small ceremony now, and postponing the larger reception to a later date. Definitely do what you feel most comfortable with!

I agree - I think with conditions as they are, this is a very reasonable and logical plan ❤️ I noticed a majority of couples are going this route with a smaller ceremony and large reception at a later time. I also think your bridal party and guests would more than understand.

Of course!! 🥰 When things get tough, we would just look at each and say “our grandchildren are sooo gonna be asking us about this one day and boy will we have some wedding stories for them” just to have a little laugh ❤️

That’s exactly what we did. We got married last year with just a few family members (9 guests) and are planning on having a reception this November. I feel bad that my bridal party bought dresses that are just sitting in their closets (they refused to let me reimburse them) and after everything, everyone really needs a party to look forward to (as long as it’s safe to have said party).

    I think that’s a great compromise.

I don't see any issue with it. I recommend you do outdoors though
