covid wedding (lower turnout that normal?)

Anyone else still continue with having their wedding during this time? If so, was the turnout lower than normal? Our venue won’t let us change the date so we are continuing with December 20th and our minimum headcount is 90 but looks like we will be lucky if we get 60... People seem to be slow at...

If your contract guarantees them 90 people at $145, you might be stuck for the total of ~ $13000. But, if you will have less than 90 people you could ask if you can at least increase/improve your food and beverage choices or other options so that you're potentially paying $175 a person for 75 guests (or however many you end up with)? The total for the venue would still be the same, but instead of wasting money on fewer guests, you can offer those who do attend more options for appetizers, a higher level of bar service, a late-night snack, etc., -- whatever the venue might be willing to give you to balance out the smaller guest count.

Fingers crossed that things will get better and you'll have lots of acceptances as your date gets closer!

I’m continuing with my Nov. 7 wedding, I sent save the dates out in Aug. I was going to send invites but I had to find a new venue (Another long story) and I was not going to reprint invites; so we reached out to everyone and asked them to RSVP through our website. Honestly by doing that we got immediate responses, we invited 70 got 61-65 people to RSVP. I believe the number probably decrease a bit come out wedding day.

We had ours last month. Lower than normal turnout. Even some that did rsvp didn’t show up.

Yeah we are social distancing most people are couple tables and masks are required throughout. The only one who aren't wearing masks for the ceremony are me and my partner.

Thank you aha I’m not your guest but just hearing that is way better because the wedding I was at (because I’m in the bridal party) there was NO social distancing and no one wore a mask AT ALL!

Hi Rachel! First, congratulations! My wedding is next week, October 2nd. I invited 109 people (all in with everyone's plus ones included) and we still had 91 people RSVP yes. Which I found to be right on par with what we expected prior to COVID. I know 10 of the RSVPs were no's because of COVID (immunocompromised family).

Honestly I feel like some people just forget to RSVP or wait until the last minute, even during a normal wedding season! I made my RSVP due 2 weeks prior to the venue's due date for the head count just to give me some extra time to follow up with those who didn't respond. I also had issues with USPS not delivering mail properly, so that could be an issue as well!

We only have 2 people who said that they couldn't come due to the virus but others are older and can't travel so there's that... Our guest list of almost 100 people has gone down to closer to 30 people. We are at the point of saying well we are sad that you can't make it but we won't be resheduling (even though that is an option for us) because well we've been planning it for 2 years and I'm done lol
