covid test

Do they accept the rapid or only the standard PCR? I feel like the time can vary so much. I last got tested about 2 months ago, and my husband and I went on the same day and got tested at the same time (literally were in the room together and the doctor did both tests one after the other) and I got my results a day before he got his. We got them done at the same time and have the same last name, so not sure what happened other than maybe I was the last sample to be analyzed of the day or something.

Before my wedding in January, I took the PCR test at Walgreens (self administered in the pharmacy drive-thru with the pharmacist’s guidance and supervision) on a Friday, and I had the results by mid-afternoon on Sunday (2 days later). If you look on the Walgreens testing site, it will give you a fairly accurate estimate of the turnaround time from test to results.

I just came back from Jamaica a few days ago. The rapid test is fine.

It just has to be from a licensed hospital, urgent care etc. it can’t be a a home test.

About 36 hours for me at CVS. Had a PCR test done this past Sunday afternoon and had the results by the time I woke up Tuesday am. Arizona as well

View Quoted Comment My local urgent care. The notice from the Jamaican government says PCR and antigen test is acceptable. The antigen test is the rapid test. Just tell the. You bed a test for travel. I got it the day before. Got my results in 15 minutes. Didn’t have to pay a dime for it. You also need a test to leave the country. My resort (which was amazing) covered the cost and arranged the covid test for us.
