It's pretty clear that they violated the state's orders by intentionally having more guests than legally allowed. So they and the venue should be held responsible...There are plenty of ways to have socially distant Covid-friendly weddings, but this wasn't one of them.

This is hard to think about and it makes me sad. Also I agree with whoever said they wondered if people weren't safe. Or if someone knew they were infected/exposed and still attended.

My sister got married in July and had 141 people there. Ohio allows up to 300 as long as a venue can distance. We danced and masks were only required at the bar and the buffet. No one from her wedding caught anything (although I guess we could have been asymptomatic).

I am not saying that means people should host weddings I just hope that someone that was exposed or thought they may have it still went to the wedding.

My wedding in October is 50 and we've talked to people about postponing but people want us to have it and our venue has a lot of safety precautions in place as well as we are doing hand sanitizer favors and we have clorox wipes and we are not allowed to have community things unless her staff serves it (my popcorn bar). So I feel that we can do it safely, but hearing these things and other people saying that people throwing weddings are putting families at risk makes me second guess things. We would lose a lot of money though since Ohio is allowing weddings.

I agree that it was wrong to break the law. I don't think that if they had kept the guest list to 50 and this had happened that they should feel bad
