Covid Safe Guestbook

Pamela, on February 13, 2021 at 11:52 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10

Hi Everyone! We are having our backyard wedding this June with about 50 guests and I'm wondering if you have any outside the box covid safe guestbook ideas?! To minimize crowding around one place and to minimize touching the same pens/objects?

Any and all suggestions welcome and THANK YOU!

You could do a clean and dirty cup for pens. You would just have to hope people followed that.

One thing used to think I absolutely wanted at my wedding was a scrapbook table instead of a burst book. People would essentially make a page for my scrapbook and then once I got pictures I’d print a picture of that guest and put it on that page. You could do something like this. Have a little packet for each family/couple, maybe at their place setting. Pens, paper, maybe some stickers or washi tape.
Or you could have slips of paper at each setting and they can write you notes. Well wishes for the new Mr and Mrs. Then you can assemble them into a scrapbook or photo album or something after.

Have sanitizer on the table for between each use. An attendant can direct this for you so people comply. Also keep in mind that many people refuse to sign any type of guest book.

We're doing a jenga block set as our guestbook. If you did that you can easily put blocks at multiple tables so that people have options and don't have to gather around one table. A 50 pack of pens isn't a huge investment. As Cassidy suggested, you can do a clean and dirty container.

Oh my gosh, THANK YOU! I had never thought of this and actually because our wedding will probably look a bit different (for instance we are unsure about dancing/music/band) this could make for a fun activity for people do work on throughout the day!! Thank you so much for the suggestion!!

That is a great idea! and you're right, even pre-covid I think I even have personally gone to weddings and forgotten to sign the guest book! haha! But I like the attendant idea and definitely hand sanitizer accessible in that spot

I love this idea! We love Jenga and like you mentioned leaving pieces at individual place settings along with a pen would make it socially distant and also a fun little activity for people do do during dinner/throughout the day! Thank you!!

Attendants used to be standard but they were jobs given to teens/kids, not adults. Also some guests will refuse to sign for reasons unknown even when it is handed to them. So forgetting is not the case for many.

I've seen this done at grad parties. Have 2-3 card boxes and lay out plain index cards/paper/etc. with colored pens (or multiple of the same). Also have sanitizer at the stations. It helps spread people out and since they have options to choose from in colors or numbers, they won't be continuously touching the same utensil.

We want to do a video guestbook. I've found a couple of websites that allow guests to use their phones to record a video message using a provided link that then gets uploaded to a cloud. Anyone else done this?
