Covid restrictions, reducing guest list

knittingeyedoc, on November 14, 2020 at 8:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
Earlier this week our state implemented restrictions of 10 people or less for social gatherings. Our wedding is 2 months away. We made the decision today to reduce our smallish wedding (75 guests) to just our kids and parents. We will be slightly over the 10 person limit, but I think our venue will allow it. I'm sad about losing our original vision of our wedding, but also relieved to have made a decision rather than just worrying about what to do! I ordered un-invites and also personally contacted guests who had already RSVP'd. I'm trying to keep everything in perspective, but it's been a rough day.

I’m so sorry you had to make that decision. It sounds like you will have the most important people there with you though so that’s good.
Keep your head up and remember you are marrying the person you love. That’s what matters. I’m sure your wedding will be beautiful!

Thanks for the well wishes. It's good to remember the best part of a wedding is getting married to my love.

I know this feeling! In the end, you will be so happy to have made a decision to go small and stick with it. Having a 75 person wedding (originally was 175) two months ago came with a lot of guilt and constant stress about people catching covid. I think you are doing the right thing!

I hate that you had to make that decision. But even with the most important people there it will still be beautiful and you’ll be becoming one with your love and doing it the safest way possible. Congratulations and best wishes to you❤️

I’m so sorry! We just finished discussing this with my soon to be in laws. We are starting our Plan B guest list- cutting from 90 to 45. Keeping immediate family & a few close friends. I’m a planner so I need to know my options. I’m going to contact our venue next week to discuss our options.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. My wedding was originally in November, but we postponed it. Now, it's planned for April.

I'm just wondering how to "un invite" people. I'd love to reduce my numbers.
