Covid Honeymoon

Tiffany, on July 29, 2020 at 9:00 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11
We are having a small ceremony August 29th and celebrating are big ceremony next year as we orginally planned. Like most people, we have been in the house since the virus started. We want to do somethjng small to celebrate and have a mini honeymoon. We live in maryland and think we might just go to ocean city or virginia beach for a few days. If we dont go away we are thinking about planning local activites such as hiking or a winery or places in our area that we never been.

What are you guys doing for your honeymoon this year? Just trying to make this as special as i can in this crazy pandemic.

Our wedding is still planned for 10/10 in the FL Keys and it's followed by our "Familymoon" with my future step son (10) at the same resort as our wedding. This was our original plan and we plan to follow through.

I live in Maryland also and the numbers in Ocean City are CRAZY right now. I would definitely be careful going there around this time. Have you considered Atlantic City? I believe their numbers are lower than both Ocean City and the Delaware beaches.

Also postponed everything to next year but we are getting courthouse married this year. We decided to rent a cabin in the woods in northern Wisconsin for a week. It's secluded from everything and is on a lake. We will be kyaking, biking, hiking and I'm sure other activities. It will be nice to leave the house after being stuck in the house for the last few months.

We've postponed to 2021 and our original honeymoon was going to be Italy in September. Thankfully we never purchased tickets or anything. We plan to go next year for our 1st anniversary, as we've planned a "micro wedding" on our original date. We live in CO but are getting married in our hometown in western NY. We will return to CO the day after the wedding, and then the day after that we're going on a short trip (1 week) in CO. We booked 2 AirBnBs in different spots we haven't been before. Planning on hiking, cooking, scenic drives, etc. This was literally Plan F!

I would try to plan those local activities. Many states are requiring quarantining from out-of-state visitors (like my state, NJ).

Maybe put aside some money and use that to plan a travel honeymoon for later.

I just thought of this! We are now looking into the pocanos as well. It looks romantic and not as crowded. We will take our planned honeymoon to aruba when things get better

Aw nice! Where have your stayed or planning to stay? We are looking into one of the cove haven resorts. Also what actives do you usually do there? Trying to make sure its enough to do while we are there so we can figure out how many nights to stay. We arent the type to just sit in the room.

We go on air bnb! Basically renting a house a couple of days! And we love to hike (Hawk falls or bushkill mountains, good photo opportunities too), go fishing, winery, outlets to shop, dining, have a bonfire, and my husband loves antique shops so we browsed those too. And we did have some down time like a day to be lazy lol. Theres so much. Even look on groupon!
