Did anyone trim down their guest list due to covid? If so who did you remove? We will offer virtual as well, so who do you guys feel should watch virtual?

We haven't had to trim our list yet, but we've already decided if we did have to, it would just become immediate family only and anyone extra would be removed Smiley sad

We trimmed ours down. We removed everyone except our immediate families like parents, siblings, and our wedding party. I messaged each household letting them know we had to cut our list, and they were very understanding. I told them we will be live streaming our ceremony and they are excited to watch it. So everyone that we had to cut will be watching our virtual ceremony now.

I cut my list from 130 to 50. We will only be having our immediate family (parents, grandparents, siblings and the aunts and uncles that we are the closest with) We will also have our closest friends that we have know for 10 plus years.

We have some family friends and college friends on the list too, what do you think about that? I said they can watch virtual, fh would like them there 🤦🏽‍♀️ They’re all in different states and I honestly don’t think they will come and prefer to watch virtual.

We had to go from 225 to 168. We cut kids first, then FH's coworkers, and then a few cousins that we don't really talk to but had on the list to appease our parents. It definitely wasn't easy trying to decide who to cut. But we will also do a virtual invite to those who wont be able to join us.

I didn't cut my guest list myself, but with travel restrictions and people just being scared to travel it managed to cut itself with the amount of declines we got. I think before COVID, I thought the decline rate was around 20%, we had a 52% decline rate. We are doing a zoom call for those who can't make it.

I think if they feel comfortable traveling/going, then that would be ideal. But since you said they would probably just prefer virtual, then maybe you can plan a larger celebration party/reception or vow renewal for next year so everyone that you originally invited can still celebrate then? A lot of brides are doing this too.

We cut our guest list from 175 to 50. The only people we’re inviting are parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and the bridal party and their spouses. We’re only doing virtual if any of our 50 guests cannot make it.
