Covid elopement

Heather, on June 26, 2020 at 6:16 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 17
We are having a very small wedding with 6 guests. I don’t think we will be wearing masks. I have hand sanitizer and gloves for when people need drinks. I’m just worried I will get judged for posting photos of the wedding and we’re not wearing a masks, including guests. It’s going to be outside as well.

Most recent photos I have seen of weddings nobody is wearing a mask. Don't worry!

Yea. I’ve seen some photos where they all have masks. It just looks so weird. Plus I know everyone has been in their homes for months and are healthy.

With 6 guests you should be okay if people can distance most of the time

I don't think that would be too much of an issue. There's people who don't have masks at all. If your state isn't making masks mandatory then I think you'll be ok. Especially with only 6 guests and you'll be outside. Our state just declared masks as mandatory. If you don't, you can get fined and/or sent to jail Smiley amazing or at least so I heard.

I'm getting married tomorrow and I will have about 25 guests and we won't be wearing masks. I simply said I don't want the memory of the virus to be in our wedding photos. We already had to change so much because of it, why let it change even more? You should be okay especially since there will only be 6 of you and you will be outside. I hope it goes well!!😊

We are supposed to wear masks! It just happened in AZ a week ago. But I would hope we wouldn’t get in trouble for having 6 people in back yard.

Oh. If it's someone's backyard, they can't or shouldn't be able to do anything. As far as I know, they're only mandatory in public places

I mean, if you were to post photos of your wedding with 50 people not wearing masks, then yes, you would certainly be judged. But 6 people? Girl, you have nothing to worry about! Wishing you the best of luck

You can still spread Covid amongst 6 guests...it may be unlikely but just know you’re taking that risk. I would just consider who is going to be there, if they’re immunocompromised or more at risk due to age or health.

As long as everyone is choosing not to wear masks, it should be fine. But if they want to, they get to, even in the pictures.

I think you should be fine! And I don't see anyone judging you all for posting pics with no masks. I'm a wedding videographer in Missouri and I have multiple 100+ people weddings coming up where masks are not required and have also seen some weddings recently with no masks and there were no bad comments on the pictures.

We're going to have about 15 people for our wedding in two weeks. We will not be wearing masks for the ceremony, though I believe most of our guests will be and that's the only part being photographed. Our feeling is that we would rather everyone be safe than risk either of our parents or grandparents being exposed to COVID through our wedding. That is NOT a memory we want tainting the memory of our celebration.

We've already informed those guests joining us for food at our house afterwards (no more than 20 people, including us) that we are requesting everyone to wear masks (we will be as well) when not actively eating or drinking. We are planning on hand sanitizer and gloves being available for everyone to use before touching any food or drink, along with focusing most of the group outside in the backyard as much as possible, and using disposable plates/cutlery to avoid possible cross-contamination.

And I'm planning to spend time afterwards wiping all handles, knobs and communal surfaces in the house with bleach wipes. So far we've been extremely lucky to not have anyone in either of our families or friends be affected, and we'd like to do our part to keep it that way.
