Covid delays and dress shopping timeline

I'm getting married/eloping in October of 2023. I was planning on starting shopping in September to give time to find a dress and order but I keep heading about crazy delays! Is that still a reasonable time to shop? I have a hard time deciding and definitely anxious about dress regret if I shop too early!

    I think that's totally a reasonable time frame! I recommend purchasing your dress at least 10-12 months before your wedding. That leaves plenty of time for it to arrive, with plenty of time for alterations. If it gets delayed, you'll still have time to get alterations.

    Oh good! Yay! I know it's crazy out there but I don't want to run out and buy a dress too early.

    I started shopping about 11 months out, and ordered my dress about 8 months out, and it arrived four months out (today! picking up next week!). I luckily didn’t have any production or shipping delays.

    I ordered mine 12 months out & it took 7 months to arrive (delayed a month due to a material shortage). I have no regrets ordering early. The month delay didn’t even cause me anxiety :-)

    Honestly you never really know..prepare for the worse and order early but I wouldn’t say this early for late next year. I ordered my dress in June and was told it wouldn’t be here until February-March and it came early November 🤷🏾‍♀️
