Covid brides

What’s everyone’s view on weddings this year? We’re on a time crunch because of military and October is about the only month available for us. We’re scared to plan if there’s another outbreak (our wedding is supposed to be in FL). Would love bride’s input!

For some couples, it works. For other couples, postponing is best. We were the latter and moved from this October to next October.

I agree with the previous comment. If you're OK with the restrictions in place (masks, social distancing, limited guest list, etc), or if you're OK with a small ceremony this year and a larger reception later on, it could totally work to keep your current date! Lots of people have posted beautiful pictures from their weddings this year, and they were able to make it work. Many of them offered a virtual option, where guests watched on a live stream. Otherwise, if you aren't OK with any of those options, postponing might be a good idea. My fiance and I postponed our July 31, 2020 wedding to July 2022, and we opted to not do a small ceremony on our original date.

We’re still planning on getting married in November. Our guest list was small to begin with, 60 people total.
Our governor just put stronger restrictions on our area including gathering sizes under 50, no alcohol sold/served after 10, all restaurants closed by midnight, and indoor dining reduced to 50% capacity. I think we will still be okay since we’ve got a little less than 4 months to go and I’m trying not to stress myself out over it.

I wouldn't go to one unless it was outside, masked, and extraordinarily small.

...But I live by NYC, so we've been through it.

DH's cousin was supposed to get married in VT this fall, but they now live in SC. It hasn't officially been cancelled, yet... but... I'm high-risk. Even if they still have it, we can't go.

We're Getting Married In October-Also Military. Not Postponing At All. Honestly Unless You Have A Set Dream Wedding I'd Say Go For It. Even If That Means Masks Required And A Guest Limit. Don't Put A Pause On Your Life Smiley smile

I believe postponing is the best option. There will most definitely be a huge spike in the next two months because people are sending their kids back to school and the world is about to burn to the ground. I am thankful we postponed our September wedding a while ago because its about to get chaotic!! Good luck and I hope it all turns out well for you!
