Dedicated January 2021

Covid-19

Erin, on August 19, 2020 at 11:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
I am getting married on January 17,2020, however my venue is not open ( military base) do to Covid. Still waiting on the General to make the decision to reopen or not. When would it be a good time for me to start looking for another Venue hall?

    Date twin!

We are 150 days out. I would start today. The sooner the better. January is approaching swiftly and most venues are booked because of spring/early summer events being canceled.

I’d at least start researching other venues and inquiring about availability right now. I’d also start checking dates with my vendors too. That way you aren’t totally scrambling if you need to change venues. Also, my deadline would be Oct 1st

I meant to add... a new venue could mean adding (or deleting) certain things about the plans. So you don’t want to wait and deal with that (or anything) at the last minute

I'd do it now. It's unlikely military bases will open up until the pandemic is under control.

    Have a Plan B and a Plan C.

It's not a bad idea to start researching other venues now, but also I think we'll see some changes after Labor day.

For sure, start looking now. You don't have to sign a contract but just to streamline the process <should you need to move on>, have your research done! 🙏 all the positivity!

I agree with all previous comments, I'd start looking for 1-2 backup options now. It's up to you on whether you want to sign a new contract now or wait it out a little longer, but it's always good to know your options. Maybe see if a different venue will put a soft hold on a new date for you for a month or two (or until you know whether you need to switch to a new venue or keep your current one)?

Definitely start now just in case you need to search for another venue, it was a good thing I had a backup venue, for when my original venue went into bankruptcy.
