So, like so many of the rest of the brides in the world, we had to postpone our March 29th wedding day to a later date. We chose November 1st....we live in Arizona, so the weather will be just as perfect as it is in March :-).
We're having a brunch wedding on a Sunday!
90% of my planning is done, just really need to send out new date info and look into new options for florals. We are having a microwedding of 17 people total (immediate family only), so there wasn't much to do in the first place.
11:30am Ceremony outside, an hour and ten for Photos and then 1:30pm Brunch. Because we are having immediate family only, we are renting a private room at one of our favorite restaurants and can order off the full brunch menu (they are known locally for their brunch!).
To make the day more interesting, I bought an Instax Polaroid so our guests can do fun instant photos for us and themselves (my nephew is blind, but loves the noise the camera makes so he'll have a blast with it), I made a word find like you would find in the Sunday morning paper, and doing a cupcake station instead of a full cake. Where we are having brunch is also right in the heart of town, so there is plenty to do and see after including an art installation and walking along the canal waterfront, bike rentals and tons for the kids to do. Our favors are miniature gold kissing bells with custom signs for them I made to use instead of clinking on glasses.
Decor is very easy...the ceremony decor is simply clusters of birchwood candles in various heights lining the stairs of our venue, and the reception decor is one long ivory cheesecloth runner topped with eucalyptus garland, clusters of birchwood candles, white antlers dipped in gold (to tie in our invitations), and signs of phrases that have meaning to us running down the table that integrate our invitation design.
We just bought a house, so after the "reception" is over, we will likely have everyone to the house to see it and play with the dog, watch Sunday sports and just relax before going back to cold weather since all the siblings live out of state.
Try to find the good and silver lining in the new plans....we all have to adjust which means we have even more time to make it our dream day. And also remember that you are still marrying the partner of your dreams, nothing can take that away from us.
