Covid-19 is stressing me out...

Yasmine, on July 1, 2020 at 9:11 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

Is anyone else with an upcoming wedding stressing out from this pandemic? My wedding isn't until March 2021, but part of me is worrying that things will have to change if this "second wave" occurs. Is anyone else dealing with this? If so what changes have you made to your wedding?

What are you going to do if a 2nd wave occurs (if you ask me we are in our 2nd wave, because I've heard NO ONE talk about a 3rd wave)?

And now Covid is gone, and another virus erupts or Swine flu comes back (It's already stated it's on the rise again) - what are you going to do? Nothing, because you have no control. Stop stressing about things out of your control. Focus on what you can control; you wedding theme, colors, dress, vendors.

My wedding is in October and I'm not stressing because I have NO CONTROL if something happens. All I can do is control what I can and accept what I cannot.

I do think that some states are in their 2nd wave, however I wouldn't say that my state is yet. Many of my friends have lost out on large amounts of money because of COVID and the changes that they have had to make to their wedding, and I am trying to avoid that if possible. This post was more so to get suggestions of what people have done and the changes they have made...

Hello! I'm so sorry you are stressed out! I am too, our wedding is November 28th, and we are very worried we won't be able to have it since we live in one of the worst states with COVID (TX) and almost all our guests are from out of town. We are setting up some precautions for our guests (hand sanitizer, servers for buffet so no one touches anything, and limited physical contact outside of family groups, etc) just to be safe, and our guest count is already low so thankfully we shouldn't have to redo our guest list. We aren't having dancing (It makes me have anxiety attacks even thinking about it!) and we are keeping things short and sweet. Thankfully my introvert self can now make an excuse for my wedding choices hehehe!

In my personal opinion we are starting the second wave here in the US and our officials are not doing enough to keep the cases down, as well as citizens not protecting themselves and others enough by simply wearing a mask. There is definitely a new normal and people aren't ready to make the changes in their life to accommodate them. Good luck planning!

Thank you so much for this response and some examples of precautions that you are taking for your wedding, I definitely jotted those ideas down. I hope that you and your fiancé are able to enjoy your wedding day without too much worry. Hopefully things will be better under control by then!

My best friend is getting married in sept and some precautions she’s doing is making sure that there’s sanitizers everywhere and asking the venue to do buffet with servers and having a system where you can identify people who aren’t comfortable with mingling, etc - she’s doing colored wristbands to differentiate those who are ok with interaction and those who want you to stay 6 ft away

I’m not worried. I’m on my 3rd wedding date at this point. If April doesn’t happen either then it doesn’t. At this point, it doesn’t even phase me anymore.

Does it keep getting postponed because of COVID? I hope that your April date can stay the same!
