Hello my fellow brides,

For anyone who has had to reschedule your spring wedding, did you plan for another date this year or next year? My wedding was May 1st, 2020. I have to reschedule however but May is the month that I really had my heart and mind set on. I love spring time. I can’t see myself choosing another date this year. Help 😔

If you really like the month of May, I’d suggest going with May 2021.

We postponed from March 29, 2020 to November 1, 2020. The only thing changing is the date....I’m keeping all the spring time colors, feels and themes the same

Thank you guys. Nov 1st was my first reschedule option but I’m very content with May 1st.

What about the invitations or even personalized things with the March date? Are you re-buying them?

Nope! We were going to have a microwedding anyways, so just sending a digital save the new date. We are having everything in all the same locations as originally planned.

We rescheduled from March to July. Thinking maybe we should have went further out but it's destination and I didn't want to risk hurricane season. Fingers crossed things get better by then. Only time will tell.

I think it's fine to push back a year in order to get the date you really want. And I was a May bride too and can attest to how beautiful that time of year is! Smiley heart The year will fly by, and you'll buy yourself a lot of extra time to plan, save, and enjoy being engaged without stress. Have you talked to your venue and vendors about their May 2021 availability?

I postponed from 3/27 to 11/20 (definitely crossed my mind that I should have postponed a year out lol but at the time I felt like 8 months was enough. Who knows lol) but yeah! I think if you're set on a May date, a year out is completely safe and makes sense! As for reprinting, I think it's up to you (depending on how important it is to you) but by no means do you have to. Everyone is aware that a postponement was made and as long as all the information aside from the date is the same, there's no need. I'm keeping all my stationary with the original date, and then for invites I'm sending out a change the date card that just gives everyone instructions on how to RSVP online (since they might not be able to come this time or maybe they want to change their meal choice, etc.). But not getting anything reprinted since so much effort and money went into the original round of printing lol.

I was open to postponing my May wedding to May of 2021, but when discussing my options with my venue/officiant, they felt more confident to book for this fall. So now it's an Oct 1st wedding.. May is gorgeous, which is why it was chosen in the first place haha
