Covering pimples🙄

Aleah, on September 19, 2019 at 4:49 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 22
I know I ask for a lot of advice on here but am always looking for reassurance and options.
I am doing my own makeup, I have
Bare minerals foundation
perversion waterproof mascara urban decay
tarte waterproof liner and liquid liner
milani blush
Kat Von D contour
Smashbox photo finish
eye love by Sephora
Urban Decay all night setting spray
Experimenting with lip tints (haven’t found one I like)

thats pretty much a full face buttt.. I break out when I’m nervous and I’m already breaking out at 29 days away so imagine when it’s actually time, I’ve never used concealer before and don’t know how or what works best. Need something not too expensive that will get the job done 100% what will hide away pimples/redness etc,.?

Also so any other makeup tips are welcomed, I am doing my own makeup so I could use any adviceSmiley smile

You can color correct redness with a green concealer and as far as trying to cover the bump try to get a full coverage foundation like the Estes lauder double wear but with that one definitely test it with flash photography because it can make you look ghostly in pictures if you don’t set it properly.

Is the bare minerals foundation the powder or liquid? Honestly I don't consider powder to be a foundation to me it's more a finishing touch to help the liquid stay... If ur wanting to cover breakout I think ull need liquid. Also, try not to focus on covering it, you just want to try and correct the redness. I use yellow tints to correct my redness, but greens work also. Just put some concealer on and tap it to blend not really a rub.
Try and youtube drug store makeup breakout cover up and watch some reviews/tutorials.

Nobody will notice the breakout. We always see things more intently on our face. Just take a step back and look in the mirror from a couple feet away.

I use Mars radiant creamy concealer with a blending sponge to cover my acne and rosacea flare ups. It’s the best I’ve used at providing full coverage and has great staying power! Especially if you set it with veil mineral powder.
Also, another tip.... after you apply your mascara, apply urban decay clear brow gel over the top of it and let dry. It makes your mascara more smudge-proof!

I have bad sometimes cystic acne and its expensive but nothing works or looks as good and natural with a full coverage thing going on is nars soft matte complete concealer. I don't like that cakey look at all and it took me a long time to find a full face makeup routine that wouldn't make me look like I was in drag so I use Lancome la base pro pore primer, and depending on how bad my acne is bare minerals (the acne one) or my fav for breakouts Lancome teint idole stick foundation with this concealer and I look flawless. Add a little makeup forever finishing powder and urban decay all nighter in original or deslick and I'm set for the day.
But really that concealer is something I cant live without. Even when I use just that under my eyes and on my acne it blends out so naturally with full coverage it's amazing. Like I said its pretty spendy at $30 for not a ton of product but a little goes a really long way so it lasts a while even with a lot of daily use. I recommend using a concealer brush and then possibly a wet beauty blender for maximum realness and blendability but it works amazing with just your finger. Its just outright amazing.

This is magic - clears your face- or any area- over night almost every time. I have used it ever since middle school whenever I see a pimple or feel one coming I apply to that area wash off in the morning and BOOM . Gone. I’ve recommended this to many people and they have it as well — it’s not expensive about $15 and lasts so long - but being so close to the wedding I would be scared to try something new just Incase 😬😬

yioubcould also go to your local makeup-store and ask and ask them what they have that will help cover or clear it up for you!

Love this product!! It quickly dry out my skin all around the pimple too, so I have to closely monitor, but it's great!

Tarte shape tape concealer has the best coverage! I would definitely recommend that as well. Also IT cosmetics has one called bye bye under eye that also works really well.

I use Benefit concealer, they have a mini one for like $10 at Ulta. It has a yellow side and a pink side to balance color.

Thank you guys so much, I am looking into every recommendation! My foundation is liquid, it is full coverage but even that can’t completely cover everything. I don’t want to look fake or anything, I just want some help lol.

This primer is my favorite. It has three colors so the green hides redness (acne), lavender gives you a brighter look, and peach counteracts sun spots.

Check out a green or yellow color-correcting concealer to help calm the pimple's redness. I love NYX's Color Correcting Palette. Green is for more concentrated areas of redness (like a single pimple), and yellow is for overall redness. Use this before foundation and it will help conceal the breakout. I recommend Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer. It has so many shades (including varying undertones), so you can find your perfect match. A little goes a long way -- it's very thick, but buildable if you need it. Once you cover the breakout, make sure to set well with setting powder.

I also recommend Clean & Clear's Witch Hazel Spot Treatment to dry out breakouts.

(Also, I noticed you don't have an eyeshadow primer in your list. If you want your eye shadow to really stay put, I recommend using an eye primer. My favorite is Smashbox's 24-Hour Primer but Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion is good too.)

The difficult part is that skin varies so much from person to person.

I have had cystic acne for years but after birth control/skincare routine being down it has helped me a little bit. But I still have a lot of scarring that is way darker than my actual skin.

With that being said, Urban Decay Naked Skin is a very thin and buildable coverage so it did not break me out (personally) and I used this during my big breakout days.

Right now I am using Too Faced Born this way super coverage multi-use sculpting concealer and it is very full coverage so a little bit goes a long way. With that being said some people may not like how full coverage it is.

Both are about $30 which is expensive but drugstore brand concealers always make me breakout.

What kind of skincare do you use?

    Are you more oily/dry/combo?

I am extremely oily and these are the two products that I have found to work the best. But if you aren't oily then they may wear different on your skin!

I tend to have dry skin, especially on my cheeks and sides of my face. I don’t really follow a skin care routine (usually) but I’ve been using super hydration creams from Lancôme since I got engaged, and an everyday hydrating face lotion for dry skin from Clinique that I use all the time, it does well on my skin surprisingly since some lotions dry me out more.

For my blemishes I use the NYX Color corrector. Use the green and put some right over the pimple (I use my clean finger and then blend with a beauty blender) You would the put your concealer over it to cover the green, then foundation. Conceal again if you feel it still looks red!

For concealer, I use the Maybelline Fit Me! In fair and sand! It's cheap and covers really well.
