Courthouse?

Shelby, on August 23, 2018 at 10:16 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
Soooo, the idea of getting married in a court house was brought up recently and since then it has really been bugging me. I really want to have a legit wedding where my FW sees me for the 1st time in my dress, I walk down the isle, we dance all night and so on. But is that still necessary after you’re already married? Will it still matter to others to come even tho we’re already married? All advice and suggestions are welcome!!!

It's not necessary, but it will still be fun and meaningful. Plenty of people get married in a small intimate ceremony and have a big vow renewal later. It's perfectly fine as long as you make people aware that you're already married and that they'll be attending your vow renewal.

A courthouse is a legit wedding. It is a movie wedding or a pinterest wedding? No.

It is definitely a legit wedding, but I would say I've been to a wedding where the couple already had gotten married and I just kept thinking: "why weren't we invited to the real one?"

Most courthouses do not want excessive guests so to me that is not a legit wedding!

Hi Shelby! Courthouse weddings are definitely still "legit" and can be really intimate, special, and beautiful! I've seen some stunning courthouse wedding pictures! Smiley love (Seriously - take a look at these wedding pics: Christine and Andre's Private Maryland Courthouse Wedding)

Can you tell us a little more about your situation and the pros and cons you and your fiancée are debating? There are so many different options and ways you can keep celebrating. You can have a courthouse wedding and a big celebration later, you can wear the wedding dress of your dreams to the court house and find some really beautiful court houses! I would sit down and talk with your fiancée about what you both want for your wedding and see what kind of compromise you can come up with!
