Am I crazy for just wanting to go to the courthouse and just have a little party later that day or the day after ?

Nope! Totally fine. You can make your courthouse ceremony private, or just immediate family. Then invite more guests to a brunch after, to an afternoon cake & punch reception, or to a dinner in the evening.

But... I don’t think you can do that right now. Most states have anti-gathering restrictions in place. Courthouses and dine-in restaurants are closed too.
