Can one get married in a courthouse with a warrant? Asking for a friend ...

    I probably wouldn't risk it. But I would also turn my self in and do the time that I earned. I've seen police in the court house on several occasions.

    Agree with PP, plus your friend (or friends fiancé) may not be able to apply for a marriage license since they have to go through the town/county and it may pop up.

    Could they get legally married? Yes, sign the paperwork and all that.
    Depending on where you are it might trigger an arrest. Also if the person is being looked for the new spouse will likely be visited or questioned for investigation.

    As previous posters have said, An outstanding warrant will likely cause issues getting legally married whether you do it at the courthouse or not, as you have to file for a marriage licenses. If they are truly committed to getting legally married and starting a new life, resolving the warrant it the best place to start. Even if that means postponing the wedding.

    I'm pretty they asked us when we applied for our marriage license if either of us were on probation of any kind. I cant even imagine what would happen if there was a warrant out...
