Couples getting married on September 4, 2027

Alyssa, on July 3, 2026 at 8:57 AM Posted in Planning 2 13

Hi, My name is Alyssa. I just got engaged and we have already set out date for September 4, 2027. I have never planned a wedding and am just going by what the book says I need to do. looking for people going through the same thing as I am or has insight on tips and tricks to make this process easier. I am not good at planning things and get stressed out easily but I also do not want to spend extra money for a planner.

    Congratulations, Alyssa!

The good news is that you don't have to know everything right away. One of the biggest mistakes couples make is trying to plan everything at once, and that's when it starts to feel overwhelming.

I'd suggest focusing on just a few things first:
    • Decide on your overall budget
    • Make a rough guest list (it affects almost every other decision)
    • Talk with your fiancé about your priorities—what are the two or three things that matter most to each of you?
    • Once those are set, start looking at venues. Many other decisions depend on your venue and date

Since your wedding isn't until September 2027, you have plenty of time. Try breaking your planning into small weekly tasks instead of thinking about the entire wedding at once.

Also, don't feel like you have to follow every checklist exactly. They're great guides, but every wedding is different. Focus on what fits the two of you.

You've got this, and there are lots of people here willing to help if you have questions along the way!

Hi! A fellow September 4th 2027 bride! I’ve been using a Google Sheets document template titled wedding planner. It has a budget sheet and everything.

Hey girlie!!! I am in the same boat. Got engaged last month and have a 9/4/27 wedding as well. Smiley smile Ive been using the wedding wire app to keep track of everything. Right now I'm going over a guest list and looking at vendors as we already secured our venue. Definitely recommend looking at engagement photographers, looking at venues and comparing cost wise - whats included vs not, and creating a rough estimate of a guest list. Also pick out your colors!

We got some time but I'm here to help if you ever want to reach out!

Hi Alyssa, congratulations on your engagement! 💍 I totally understand feeling overwhelmed wedding planning is a lot, especially when it’s your first time. My biggest advice is to take it one step at a time, make a simple checklist, and don’t feel like you have to do everything at once. There are so many helpful groups and free resources that can make the process easier without needing a planner. Wishing you the best with your September 2027 wedding! ❤️

Just got engaged last Wednesday! We are most likely going to get a wedding planner as we are doing a destination wedding in Puerto Rico (November 2027) but I would recommend figuring out your budget first. That's the first question every venue and vendor has asked us.

Congratulations on your engagement! My biggest advice is to take it one step at a time and don't feel like you have to do everything at once. Focus on booking the big vendors first, then tackle the smaller details as you go. Wedding planning books are helpful, but hearing from other couples and using simple checklists can make the process much less overwhelming. You've got plenty of time, so try to enjoy it too.

I’m less than three months from my wedding and there’s a lot of “oh crap I need to do SO MUCH” moments still ha but remember that people have been doing this for centuries. It’ll all work out.

Check out venues you might like and book that first. Vendors book up fast, as I learned when I tried 3-4 hair/makeup artists who were booked for my October 3 wedding, when I called last October.
Once you have the venue, find a dj/band, photographer/videographer, hair/makeup artist. Not sure what all you want, but just think about booking those who can only do one gig/day (aka florists can plan for more than one event in a day, but a band can’t play two shows per night)
It can all be so overwhelming if you let it be, but just do one task at a time. Getting these big items off your checklist helps immensely

Congratulations on your engagement, Alyssa! You have plenty of time, so try not to feel like you need to plan everything at once. It may help to start with the biggest decisions first, such as your budget, guest list, venue, and photographer. After that, you can break the remaining tasks into smaller monthly goals.

A simple wedding checklist or spreadsheet can help you stay organized without paying for a planner. You can also ask trusted family members or friends to help with specific tasks when things start to feel overwhelming. Most importantly, remember that the day does not have to be perfect to be meaningful. Enjoy the planning process and celebrate the small decisions along the way.

Hi Alyssa, congratulations on your engagement! September 4, 2027 is such a lovely date. Try taking the planning process one step at a time instead of trying to organize everything at once. Making a simple checklist and setting small deadlines can make things feel much more manageable. Also, give yourself some flexibility and don’t worry about making everything perfect. You’ve got plenty of time, and I’m sure you’ll create a beautiful day without needing a planner!
