Couples getting married on September 11, 2020

Shinese, on January 4, 2020 at 5:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Hello ladies, I just realized that I’m not the only person not worried about getting married September 11th 2020. Was anyone else met with various reactions when people learned of the date? Curious to know.

Sept 11 will always be a meaningful date, and it’s important to acknowledge and remember. However life’s spectacular moments can of course be celebrated on this day too! Just think how many births, new jobs, promotions, remissions, falling in love happen on this day. I think it’s important to remember but also to push forward and keep celebrating life.

So true I’m glad this date was chosen, plus my fiancé is a veteran who served two tours during 9/11

We've chosen this date as well. We spoke to multiple people and took time to make this decision. Living 25 minutes away from NYC, it's a very sensitive day for many and we did not want to disrespect anyone. However, it is what works for us and with the blessing of my fiances father we decided to go for it. (His father lost many friends on 9/11 and wants us to turn it into a positive day) I've gotten some surprised looks from some people when i mention the date but honestly their opinion does not affect me. I think everyone has a different experience when it comes to this date. We've been to a few other venues and many were all booked for this date as well.

Let me know what you think!

I think if you were in NYC like I was it hits you so differently. I get why they would wonder why that day but I think it’s playing tribute as well. My fiancé was awaiting his assignment as a Marine back in 2001. He served two tours as a Marine during the war in Iraq. He’s also from Brooklyn so he was affected in two ways. I think it’s a historical day and it’s an important day to never forget. If you marry that day you’ll never forget it’s double meaning.

And yes the date is exactly is popular which is a surprise.

My original wedding date was 4/25 but we had to postpone because of the the Corona mess. Now are date is 9/11. I was apprehensive about it for obvious reasons but our venue had very few dates available and this was the only date that all of my vendors were available to reschedule. Now when I tell people the new date I get the same 🥴 look

Don’t worry Shara, happy you were able to get a date in 2020 still, those people giving you a face will be fine as well. Praying that September brings us both joy and changes the outlook for the day for us and many others.

Same here! Our original date was 4/3/20 and we also had to reschedule to 9/11. I am not so concerned with guest’s thoughts about that date but more about if we will be able have a wedding by then with everything going on. It is so draining worrying about the unknown. I almost feel like I can’t get excited about our big day because I have already been let down once and with the unknown still hanging over us.... it is just all so hard 😞 Best of luck to all you brides out there ❤️

Our original date was next week Saturday June 6th postponed to Sept 11th with no weekends left at our venue this year, this was our option.

    Just traded D-Day for 9/11 I guess 😂
Everything will be perfect and work out as it should 💕☺️
