I definitely wouldn't wait on the big vendors (photographer, DJ, officiant).
Not to freak anyone out, but I booked my venue, photographer, DJ, and officiant last year -- 2 years out -- and several of them had competing inquiries for the same date already.
Within the last two months, I booked hair, makeup, flowers, the hotel block, and bought my wedding dress. The person that I originally wanted for hair is already completely booked for the entirety of 2020.
Definitely don't wait for the big stuff. Vendors on local FB groups are saying it's an absolutely insane date. (the whole month, but especially 10/10)
We've got almost everything booked. I settled hair & makeup a couple of weeks ago and we booked our mini-moon cabin near a popular state park earlier tonight. Next on the list is hotel room for night before & night of. We definitely don't have to have it, since our venue is only about 20 minutes from my place. But I also don't really want to come back to the chaos that I'm sure my apartment will be in lol We don't neeeeeed a hotel block, but I may get one if I can.
I am a little worried about the popularity of the date affecting RSVPs because of conflicts, though. But there really isn't anything I can do about that.
Engagement photos we’re finally taken this past weekend. Where is everyone else at in wedding planning? I feel Behind. Like our day will be here quicker than I realize.
We took our engagement photos at the end of September, still waiting to get them back, it's been almost 5 weeks! I feel the need to send out the Save the Dates ASAP because it is such a popular wedding day.
On the bright side we have everything booked! Venue, Caterer, DJ, Photobooth, Bakery, Hotels, Photographer, Officiant, Rehearsal Dinner, Florist, Hair and Make Up. Phew! I really didn't struggle getting too much stuff booked, but I started planning a year ago.
Yes! We were at a wedding last month. My FH asked the groom to be his groomsmen for our wedding, but his wife was already asked to be a bridesmaid on the exact same day! Luckily they decided to divide and conquer so we weren't out a groomsman! But people have been telling me they already know of someone else getting married the same day and they will have to decide which wedding to go to.
Hello wedding date twins. We're getting married 10/10/2020 in St, Cloud, Minnesota at The Tuscan Ballroom. They supply the catering we have to find the rest. Hope you guys are having a wonderful day.
Kudos to you for being on top of engagement pictures! We are taking ours around Thanksgiving and she said unless something happens we'll get our pictures back in around a week! We're hoping to send out save the dates as Christmas cards.

We took ours 9/29 and got ours back last week. I was refreshing the photographer's website about 47 times a day while I was waiting 🤣
Hey date twins! I’m glad I found this group because things are becoming slightly overwhelming in my mind lol. We just got engaged on 10/22/19 but now the pressure is on to get all of these things done before 10/10/20. My fiancé isn’t yet open to changing the date, although I told her it’s a popular day so I’m rolling with it and plan on making it happen!! Now when I tell y’all my head is spinning lol I’ve never been to a wedding now I’m left to plan one with very little support on my side of the family. Wish me luck!!
Anyone doing an outdoors wedding? I’ve notice how beautiful they can be as I’ve been doing research. Atlanta’s unpredictable weather has me nervous!! Do you guys have any tips?
We're having an outdoor ceremony and our reception will be in a tent. I was super nervous because October in Pennsylvania could be 70 or 35 and snowing lol. But our venue coordinator reassured us that they have a super flexible rain plan and that makes me feel better.

Ohio here, so same weather issues. That's why I picked indoor. I knew I'd be stressing over do I need to rent heaters or fans? But then, friends got married outdoors two weekends ago and they had the most beautiful perfect fall weather.
We got engaged in August of last year however I got way too comfortable and just started planning things about three weeks ago. We had a date picked out within the first week so we’re planning everything around 10-10-20. There’s a possibility I still found a venue however I haven’t booked it yet so I’m a little nervous. A have my dress, and my wedding planner but that’s about it.
Got engaged in July 2018, but just connecting with this group! We're getting married in Milwaukee at The University Club. We've booked our venue, officiant, photographer, DJ, and bought the dress, but I'm starting to get anxious about how little time seems to be left!
