Hey Wedding Date twins! I’m in Minnesota everything is locked down till May 18th. We are deciding we want to have a smaller wedding 50-75 people, for October 10th. Or get our money back and do it in a families backyard to be able to have more people. I think cutting the wedding guest list is the smartest way. This date means so much it will be exactly 5 years when we started dating. Is anyone else cutting there wedding guest list down?

We chose our date because my fiancé asked me to go steady on 10/10/2015 so it will be 5 years exactly dating when we say I Do’s. Are you planning smaller ceremony with COVID? Or same guest amount?? Our venue asked if we would limit it to 50-75 people or want to reschedule
Oh not bad! I have 8 bridesmaids and he has 7 groomsmen so it’s tough. We’re going to make big decisions soon, if we’re going to have it in a backyard. Have increments of guests come and go.
We've invited 101, expecting about 80 to come, but we may cut down our list to a cap of 50. I imagine some of that will be self selected (people with other health issues who are concerned about virus spread, out-of-state/out-of-country guests), and we may have to cut others. Since we've only sent save-the-dates, not invitations, I take it that the people we have to cut will be more understanding, given the circumstances.
Yep, and I got word from them today that we can hold a second date in Fall 2021 (until someone inquires/tries to book, but we still have first dibs), should we need to postpone.
Our venue accommodates 250 people for a seated dinner, and we were planning on using half of the room. Now we know we have lots of extra space for social distancing!

What state are you in? I’m In MN they said we could have a court house ceremony / I do or do backyard with close friends and family. We could wait till 10/10/21 fall to have everyone too. Deciding to just do backyard wedding having people come in increments still get together with bridesmaids and groomsmen. Just no dance or speeches I guess :/
I know it's disappointing to push your celebrations out and not have your wedding day as you had planned. I hope you at least get the best of both worlds (an intimate, low-key celebration and a big blowout party).

Not the only one; we were 10/10/2020 up until yesterday when we changed the date to 10/09/2021.. things should be okay by then! We’ll be having a destination wedding in Negril, Jamaica 🇯🇲

We have a destination wedding in negril Jamaica at Sandals resorts. We postponed the wedding yesterday to 10/09/2021 for two reasons: 1) even if the virus is under control by then and things start to reopen... the economic impact for our guests will last a long time. People who lost their jobs may not be in a position to travel right now. And 2) with so much uncertainty about second waves and the government pushing back the lockdown dates every month.. we felt instead of hoping and praying, we’d just postpone and provide ourselves with a sense of peace.

Congratulations!! We are getting married in Hawaii also, but on Maui! Are you from there or traveling for your wedding? I’ve been concerned a bit on how everything will go with COVID & wondering if we will be able to travel to Hawaii or not this fall.
