Hello date twin! Getting married outside. We are doing a German tradition of sawing a birch log in half, to symbolize out first task as a married couple. (I am German and my parents will freaking love it) I will later use the birch log pieces for some crafts to display in our house.
Hi date twin! I will be getting married outside and our officiant suggested a wine box ceremony. We talked about it and we decided that we really liked the concept, but we will be using a bottle of whiskey instead because neither FH or I drink wine. The officiant said doing that would help stretch the ceremony out a bit, to about half an hour.
Handfasting is the practice of couples committing to each other by having their hands tied together with braid, or something similar, and exchanging rings and vows in a traditional non-religious ceremony. Knots are often tied in the braid at the making of each vow. You choose a few different cords and each color has a special meaning. Its where the phrase "to tie the knot" comes from.
