Couples getting married on May 4, 2019 in Pennsylvania

Hey everyone! Is anyone incorporating Star Wars day either a little or a lot into their weddings? I'd love to bounce ideas off of you all. We are still having a more "normal" wedding with pops of Star Wars.

    Hi Lindsey! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! Smiley ring I recommend checking out the this Stars Wars discussion to potentially help with your inquiry. You should also consider subtly incorporating the theme throughout every segment of your wedding. For instance, if you haven't already taken engagement photos, you can pursue a Star Wars themed photoshoot. I definitely recommend incorporating a themed backdrop and photobooth. At the actual ceremony, you can present themed guestbooks, seating arrangements, treats, and other memorabilia. I also recommend using a Stars Wars themed hashtag to enhance the ambiance.

    Additionally, you could easily involve elements within your attire, specifically through your hair by channeling the popular double buns like Princess Leia.

    We are trying to include some discreet Star Wars-y touches as well. Right now, I'm trying to come up with the perfect hashtag.

    I don't plan on having cutesy signs myself, but there are lots of opportunities for punny signs, such as "RESERVED: These aren't the seats you're looking for," or

    <--Light Side

    Dark Side-->

    <--Bride's Side-->

    <--Groom's Side-->

    Hi Lindsey!

    I am also getting married May 4th 2019 and my fiance is a huge Star Wars fan. We are doing subtle hints of Star Wars for the wedding. We are buying Star Wars themed masks, Leia headbands and maybe some light sabers for DJ favors/photobooth props and then plan on having Star Wars themed favors for the end of the night. I also really like the idea of having the quote "I love you" and "I know" on the backs of our chairs for the night. Just some subtle hints for fans! Smiley laugh

    Awesome! Are you buying he masks online? My fiancé loves the idea of pics of us with them. We’re also doing a pop of it in the cake- half normal and the back half Star Wars

    We are getting May 4 as well. We are still deciding how much Star Wars themed items to include. So far the only thing we’ve included is bb8 cufflinks for my fh.

    Lindsey,

    We bought the masks on Amazon for really cheap last Black Friday, I am hoping to get some more good deals this Black Friday as well!

    I like the cake idea, I am hoping we can do that too, or possibly have a second Groom's cake that is Star Wars themed.

    Thanks! Yes I already started making a list of what else we need to purchase on Black Friday! Glad I'm not the only one! I thought about a second groom's cake, but in the interest of saving money it was just cheaper to do a peekaboo Star Wars section - our baker isn't charging anything additional - purely went by size of cake. The only additional charge would be if we want like sculpted figures on the cake but $25/figure so it wasn't bad at all - still within our budget.
