People typically begin dress shopping about one year out. So technically, you are a little behind in that area. So I would start dress shopping ASAP.
Make sure to tell the sales consultant your wedding date, so that they will only show you dresses that you can get in time. Some dresses take 6 to 8 months to arrive once you order them! And you have to make sure you leave plenty of room for alterations after it arrives.
Save the dates are usually sent anywhere from 6 months to a year out, so you can send those out now. Then your invitations will get sent 6 to 8 weeks prior to your wedding.Congratulations on your engagement! I hope you have fun dress Shopping and planning the rest of your wedding!

You are not behind. I got engaged two weeks ago and I’m getting married in September and have already picked out a dress. It was one that was already in the store and just needs to be picked up and taken in for alterations. If they can’t get you a dress by your wedding date than youll want to find one that’s in store and ready to go and then leave just a couple months for alterations!

Hi! I'm also getting married March 30th! I'm a bit of an anxious individual, so I've already sent out my save the dates. I wanted to make sure people could plan and find hotel accommodations. I don't think I'll send out my actual invitations until January though. I've also found my dress. Thankfully, I only needed to grt it bustled.

I've done everything early so that I'll have more time to pay for it lol.
    All the best! Can't wait!

Guess I'd better send out my save the dates then. Most are local but my brother and other family members are not.

Haven't started looking for a dress yet but it's a casual wedding so I don't need much.

I’m March 30th as well! We sent our the beginning of May because i have a lot of family out of town. I also am very picky when it comes to cloths and dress so i started shopping right around the year mark and ended up falling in love with a dress and already have mine, I am just waiting on alterations till closer

Hello! I am getting married 03/03/2024! We sent Save the dates in May since it’s a destination wedding. Formal invitations will go out in September to allow time for people to book flights and hotels.

I was meant to buy my dress last week but I’ll be going again next week. We will be confirming our venue at the end of July! I think it depends if you’re having a lot of people flying in or not

I'm getting married on March 30th, 2024 as well! I have all the vendors booked besides a florist. The biggest headache has been collecting addresses for Save the Dates but the goal is to have them out by the end of July (fingers crossed lol). About 80% of our wedding guests are traveling to attend so my goal is to give them ample time to book flights and hotels. If your wedding is local for the majority of your guests, I'd say around the 6-month mark is totally fine to send save the dates! Just realize they take more time than you originally anticipate so give yourself a buffer!

In terms of wedding dresses, I went to four appointments before finding "the one" so give yourself some grace at your first appointment (putting on a wedding dress for the first time is surreal). Also - don't be afraid to go ALONE to a bridal appointment. I have the most relaxing and best time when I was solo.

    Good luck xoxo!

Also, the biggest tip is everything is negotiable - I was able to get 15% off my dress and only pay for half upfront! Don't be afraid to ask what the salon can do to make you say "Yes to the Dress" - free viel, remove sales tax, discount the dress, or payment plans!

I am getting married on March 30, 2024 too! I picked out my dress a few months back but because my sister and mom does not live in the same state as me so I wanted to do it when they took a trip to visit me. I also have a long engagement so I have time to save and wiggle room for planning but it’s still not too late ! As for the save the dates I am skipping that and just sending out the invitation within the next month since people have to travel to attend the wedding I wanted to give them time to look up flights, transportation and hotel. I’m a bit of a over planner so I get things done early but you have a lot of time still! I would focus on the more expensive aspects so that way you can pay it off sooner. My sister got married a year ago and she did a lot of her own crafts for the wedding; ie the seating chart, favors, center pieces, so if you have time and is a little creative you can save money that way! And check out esty for some deals on wedding stuff! I hope this helps!

We are getting married on the same day! I went dress shopping already and found the one. It depends on what you need alterations wise. Typically dresses take about 6 months to come in depending on where you go. I went in June and am getting my dress in September. My alterations (if I need any) will be done by my mother in law and she said not to give her my dress or bridesmaid dresses until January.

I am sending my invitations out before the end of September. That way I can get an accurate headcount on who is coming.

My budget was not huge, as I am paying for this by myself. My venue included everything I could need or want with its package deals so it is not as stressful!! YOU GOT THIS!
