Couples getting married on June 26, 2020

I’m crafty, love to DIY, and make centerpieces/decor for events. I’ve been having mixed feelings if I should do my own centerpieces for my own wedding so that we can stay below budget. I’ve been looking for faux flowers in bulk. Any suggestions for a frugal bride?

Or should I just trust a decorator to handle it?

I totally think you can DIY your centerpieces. If you have a Day Of Coordinator (which I highly recommend), they can set up everything for you. And even if you want to have a florist do flowers for the centerpieces, you can DIY the rest of the components.

Almost a date twin - July 25, 2020! I'm working with my florist to create three different centerpieces for all the tables - I just didn't want to DIY and store everything/lug it there/figure out what to do with it afterwards. I was surprised with the floral and rentals that it wasn't terribly expensive. If you do DIY which you totally should if you want to, I recommend getting a DOC. We hired one and that person will execute everything so you don't have to lift a finger the day of. Totally worth it!

Hey Delisa! I totally think that DIYing your centerpieces is something that you can do, especially if you love projects and DIY. Have you found any inspiration pictures of what you would love your centerpieces to look like? Do you have specific flowers/colors in mind?

Thank you!!Smiley heart And congratulations to my fellow bridal date twin! I've decided to DIY my centerpieces, but we also hired a wedding coordinator that actually can do decor as well. This way she can definitely take over as another option :-) So far I've found that Ling's Moments Flowers give me the most bang for my buck and look the most realistic. Any other suggestions are welcomed

Hey Sinead! I found some inspiration on Pinterest. I'm looking at different flowers (roses, hydrangeas, astilbe, greenery) until I figure out which ones I'd like to choose. Our colors are blush and navy with ivory/gold accents

So I’m doing my own centerpieces for budget and allergies reasons lol, I’m only using a florist to do real flowers outside for ceremony because we have a huge pergola to decorate and I don’t want faux flowers to downplay my focal point.

I think making your own centerpieces is completely doable especially if you have someone to help! I asked my work bestie if she can help me with decor for my wedding since she has the knack and eye for it. I went to Michael's bought everything I needed for my centerpieces which most were on clearance (yay!) Literally saved almost $900 just buying the items I needed to make the centerpieces. (My centerpieces are lanterns. Half of the lanterns will have flowers inside of them and the other half with candles inside which will be inside of a flower wreath. After calculating, each lantern cost me about $14-15 compared to one that Michael's would have made which ranges anywhere from $70-100 depending on size.) Its definitely a great way to stay on budget and it also can give you some time to spend with whomever is helping you. Smiley smile
