Hello, Fellow July 25ers! Just curious where you’re all at in your planning processes? My fiancé Sam and I are having a pretty chill backyard wedding, but I still have a lot to do and I’m feeling a little nervous about getting everything done, even despite the fact that we have a whole year. 😂

Yeah, I have not done research as far as that but I did hear from someone that the courthouse are being postponed here as well. I'm going to give it until April to decide whether or not to posponed.

Hi everyone! Hoping that by the time 7/25 comes around this will all be a good story to laugh about. (Right now I just have to laugh about this or I’ll cry 😂). Most likely will have to postpone my shower (April) and even bachelorette (June). If we can’t do our big wedding, we still hope to get married on 7/25 - if we can still get a marriage license that is... 🤞🏽. Stay healthy everyone!

At this point, I’m looking for a positive way to do anything AND stay healthy all at the same time. We decided we wouldn't make any changes until March 31st. By then, either the entire US will be on stay at home orders or we’ll be coming around the other side of this pandemic/crisis. We did however go to the county office and get a marriage license last week and plan to hold a 10 minute “ceremony” with just ourselves and my MOH tonight actually. We decided, no matter how disappointed my little heart is with the ceremony, we are still best friends and would rather go through this as husband and wife than not. Especially given the uncertainty of something catastrophic happening. So, in the end, yay me - I’m getting married today. 😊.
Good luck out there and please stay safe. I don't leave the house without gloves and mask. 😉

    Hi Tonyia

What part of Jamaica are you getting married in? I would like to speak with you more off-site.

Have you decided on rescheduling yet? I totally agree. Im torn and my mom is putting pressure for me to let people know something and I know nothing at this point and the FH is no help. I think he wants me to make the ultimate decision.

Hey Tania, we booked at Bahia Principe in Montego Bay. I have not decided, I said I was waiting until May 1st, but I’ve told my guest where I’m at mentally, COVID-19 is real, and I’m not playing with it at ALL!!

    Hi Tonyia

The Bahia Principe looks like a fabulous place to wed.

I wanted to wait until Mid-May to make my final decision. My mother was pressuring me to decide now and it was causing me a lot of stress trying to decide what to do. We just decided this week that we would postpone until next year. My fiance felt that it was too big of a risk. Even if the "threat" was over, we don't want to risk the safety of our family and friends. With all of the other major events for 2020 being cancelled, it's not a good sign that it will be safe to travel in July. We don't want to be forced to wear masks, stay 10 ft apart or put any of our guests in harms way. After my fiance's strong argument, I agreed with him. It's just not worth it. Postponement is not that big of a deal in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. We decided we will still have a small ceremony on the same day this year in New Jersey and will have our larger, formal ceremony in Jamaica next year.

Good Luck and I hope things turn around for the country.

FYI Jamaica closed all of its borders in and out of the country last week. I just heard Jamaica has 59 confirmed cases of Covid-19 now. Scary.

Keep me posted on your decision. Im rooting for you Tonyia and the de-escalation of this crisis.

    Hi Jhenina

We just rescheduled as well. I haven't decided which day in July yet. Im not sure if I will reschedule for July 17 or July 24. This whole thing is a mess. I feel relieved that we have made the decision to move the date. Now I can breathe and sleep again.

    Stay Safe!!

    Hi All,

We are scheduled for July 25 and will likely postpone to July 31st, 2021. We will still get married this Summer, and the reception will be a 1 year anniversary celebration. It's obviously not our first choice, but the safety and comfort of our friends and family is most important. Our first choice was July 24, 2021, but it didn't work for all the vendors. We don't want to pull the plug for a few more weeks, but most vendors are letting us do a backup date, and then make the final decision when we can. We're still excited to do something small this summer with our immediate families...we've decided that a marriage and a wedding are two very separate and very big things, and no need to postpone the marriage. The celebration will be better than ever when we can do it. Thinking of all of you, and hope you're staying safe!
