Couples getting married on January 23, 2022

Daughter & SIL got married a few yrs ago on 1/19. They sent the invitations Thanksgiving week (~8 weeks in advance of the wedding) with an RSVP date of Christmas day (4+ weeks after they went in the mail and less than 2 weeks before their first number guarantee was due to the venue). Despite ignoring all the "mail extra early to avoid the chaos and stress of the holidays" advice, on 12/25 all but 10 people (3 households) had RSVP'd as requested via the website. It only took a day or two to get the responses from those who were a little late in responding. They had plenty of time to review their final numbers before submitting them to the venue/caterer on 1/10 and to take care of last minute things like organizing the seating arrangements, etc. On this website I often see people advising to send invitations really early (more than 8-10 weeks in advance) and I think that backfires more often than not. When people receive invitations too early, many have a tendency to think, "I've got plenty of time" and set it aside and forget. Congrats!

Good point! Thank you so much for the insight! It seems it is just about finding that sweet spot for the invitations. But you are right - too early and people forget too late and your screwed! Haha

1/23/22!! I sent out save the dates last month we’re looking to send invitations out for main guests end of October beginning November and then secondary depending on responses and are minimum people in end of November
