Couples getting married on January 16, 2021

I’m still waiting to hear from my venue what the actual restrictions are, but it’s not sounding good. Plus my fiancé’s brothers are military so they will probably not be able to come which is devastating to my fiancé. I don’t want to postpone the marriage indefinitely (since it seems like Covid is never ending!) But we also worry that having the reception in January 2022 will not be as special since we will have already been married.

We are thinking we may either power through and have a small 25 person wedding or maybe rent an Airbnb and get married there with family for the weekend and then have the party a year later with family. Either way it’s not what we want. We spent all year planning for this day and now it’s never going to happen the way we planned. No fancy Rehearsal Dinner, no bachelor/bachelorette parties, no getting ready the day of with all my girls, no traditional wedding walking down the aisle with all my friends and family there, and no big dance reception. 😭 This situation is awful.

View Quoted Comment My fiance and I are scheduled to have our wedding on 1/16/21 as well, but our state has mandated 25 max people gatherings indoors and outdoors. I just found out yesterday, i have been a mess crying all day and night. I feel like a crazy person crying over a date but im just tired of waiting. We are going to postpone but im still nervous that the date we postpone to will be bad too. Im at a loss. I have the same issue with military guests and its very important to us for them to be there. Im sorry im not any help but I found some comfort knowing im not crazy for being upset and I am not the only one who is having this issue.

I understand! I am also January 16, 2021 and I honestly do not want to cancel. It has been very stressful already and I am losing the joy of it all so postponing for me would be to continue this cycle of wondering wether I will have a wedding or not. I am just lookng foward to being a wife and I am still praying and hope We all get the chance to. This is exhausting but eventually we will get through this.

How was everyone’s big day on Saturday? Mine was absolutely amazing — even with a Plan B, modified COVID wedding!!
