DO NOT feel bad talking about it!! You can always chat here if you want. We started planning June 2021 for our May 2023 wedding, and I am so glad I locked in our venue immediately. They are honoring the price 2 years out! Plus with so many COVID push-backs, dates are filling fast. SO .... figure out how many people and then start looking where you want to host your guests.

I try to just chat with my FH about the event. I'll check with my bff and sis (both out of state) but I keep it 'low' keyed and feel out their 'vibe' before going on about things. I AM an older bride, so maybe it's more of a 'what are the schematics to get this done" kind of chat rather than blathering on and on about dress and shoes and such. Either way, never apologize for talking about an important even in your life - just be understanding if some people just don't tune in as closely as you would hope.

Do not feel bad at all! You're at the perfect spot for planning! My wedding is August 19, 2023 and I already have a lot locked down in terms of vendors. I've said this before and I'll say it again COVID has caused so much push back that people are already planning for 2024 weddings.

My tip is to plan a budget first and foremost. Then, make your guest list. This will help with what type of venue and how much everything (food, drinks, etc) will cost. Once you have a venue booked then I would look into booking the bigger things like photographer, videographer (if you choose to have one), flourist/decorator, and caterer (unless your venue comes with a caterer).

I booked things as soon as I got engaged because I wanted to be able to slowly pay things off and enjoy my engagement without too much stress.

    Congrats!
