Couples Getting Married at 4:30 p.m...

Mrs. H, on October 31, 2018 at 9:14 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11

FH and I are tying the knot at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 28th, 2019 mainly because it aligns well with when we would like to serve dinner, but also because getting married on the half hour is supposed to be "good luck", according to my late grandmother.

If you're also getting married at 4:30, does that time hold any significance to you?

We are doing 4:30, it suits the timing for the reception and venue and also we are getting married in October so we want to still have light

The only significance it has had for weddings I have been in, or family ones, has been a practical one. Good for when you want children for a ceremony and dinner only, then off they go with a sitter or caretaker,by around 7, rest of evening an adult party, dancing and alcohol. And good if you have numerous Type 2 diabetics, who need meals close to normal meal times . I have never heard of other significance or superstitions.

We're doing 4:30, I didn't want to wait longer and have a later ceremony and I didn't want it to be too early in the day to where my guests feel like they are spending the whole day with us (and I personally didn't want to be rushed).

I've heard its good luck too, but that had nothing to do with our decision. We are having a winter wedding so we wanted a late afternoon wedding to have enough daylight for photos.

We are getting married at 5:30.. Originally I decided on that time because I wanted it to be cool and the sun to be setting. But I am rethinking this decision now? 5:30 is going to make for a SUPER long day and we have the venue for 4.5 hours so we will be there till 10! I guess I have some thinking to do.

We got married at 4:30 on 10/13 partly because I wanted the "golden" light for our photos. Also it meant the reception would start at 6 and and a 5 hour reception was a good amount of time to spend drinking/dancing.

We originally planned 5, but our photographer asked us to move it up to 430 for better lighting. The time held no significance to us.

We're doing 5:30 and we pushed it back because our families have church to attend (doing it on a Sunday) and etc so we wanted to make sure everyone had open availability.
