Couple game

Jones2020, on April 28, 2016 at 5:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

So me and the FH love games we play viddo games, card games, and everything in between and although I'm not a fan of wedding games I went to one wedding and a DJ asked all married couples to the floor for a little game and once everyone who wanted to play was there he said ok we're going to see who has been married the longest so your going to dance with your partner until we have reached a year higher then u have been married. I thought it was cute and after the last couple told how they met and how long they have been together. I was thinking about doing this at my wedding or would it just be a bad idea?

I'm going to have my DJ ask all married couples to stand. And then start by "If you've been married less than a day, sit down. Less than a year, less than 5 years" etc. and the couple who has been married the longest will get my bouquet instead of me doing a toss. Also, I have seen where people put 20 sided dice on the tables and if they roll higher than like 10 the bride and groom kiss, but if it rolls less than 10 the roller has to kiss someone.

I've witnessed this at a few wedding as well. The DJ asked all married couples to come to the dance floor for a dance, then as the song was playing he asked them to sit down if they'd been married less than a year, less than five years, etc. until it came down to two older couples. I thought it was really cute. I'm gonna ask FH what he thinks about doing it at our reception.

I've seen this done at weddings and think it's great! We're planning to do it at our ceremony. I think it's a nice reminder that marriage can last.

When I've seen it done at other weddings, the couple that has been married the longest either gets a door prize (like a bottle of wine) or the bouquet/garter.

I've seen this done a few times and it's always been pretty damn adorable! (especially if you have a lot of lasting marriages in attendance) You may end up with the salty divorced cousin being annoyed but ¯\_(?)_/¯

We are doing this, it's called the anniversary dance. At the end of the dance our photographer will take a photo of us with the longest married couple. We will present that couple with a photo frame with a sweet poem about marriage in it. Then once our photos are developed, we will give them the photo of the 4 of us to put in the frame.

Not bashing this at all, as I do think it's a really cute idea, but what do the single people do during all of this? Just sit and watch?

(I'm asking because I'm genuinely unsure, as I haven't been to a wedding since I was five).

I like the idea but it also makes people leave the dance floor which I am not a fan of

My bff did this. It was very nice to see an old married couple. Gave me hope in marriage. The single guests drank, and then drank some more. Smiley winking
