Costco Flowers.....

FutureMrsSmith, on December 31, 2014 at 4:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I've been searching around of real flowers to use just for bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. Costco has some good pricing on some great packages. All the reviews I've read on that site were 5 stars. Anybody plan on/have used Costco flowers?

Is $350 on the expensive side for a bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 boutonnieres, 4 corsages and a box of petals? All I have looked at is pricing for roses, since that is what I want to use. I have no idea how much is too much for flowers, but I've been looking around at online sites and Costco's prices seem reasonable.

We are using Costco for all our reception and ceremony decor. A florist would be at least $600 for what you have listed Smiley smile

They look absolutely gorgeous, the ones they have in the store are beautiful. I was thinking it was a good price, I'm definitely considering Costco now Smiley smile Thanks @Lauryn

I did costco flowers and LOVED THEM!!! We did them for center pieces and for extra flowers to be used through the wedding. We ordered directly from a costco location (not online) and everything was easy, super cheap and wonderful. Stunning! 19.99 each for centerpieces and loose flowers were like 12-16.99. Super super affordable and lovely!

I also used bunchesdirect.com for my bouquets and were very happy with them as well...my bouquet was like 40 dollars and each of my bridesmaids were like 30 dollars each and my boutiners were like 7 dollars each.

Costco and the wedding bouquet is from bunches direct with a few costco flowers added to get the right color mix for what I wanted (so easy to do...took like 3 mins or less).

That's a great deal! A florist can charge that much for the bouquet alone. We are using Costco as well.

I know that every bride cannot afford the services of an independent florist. I try to help every DIY bride who posts here. Seriously, I want all of you to have gorgeous, beautiful, memorable weddings. In my opinion, flowers are super important.

I've heard good things about Costco and Sam's Club when it comes to wedding flowers. I don't think you have the options you would have with an independent florist (as far as choices of flowers), but you can still have lovely flowers using either of these big box stores. Your specific question was whether or not $350 was on the expensive side for the pieces you're ordering. Assuming the pieces will be constructed using hydrangeas and roses, I would likely charge you somewhere close to $490 (without tax) for the pieces you'd want (but I'd be adding custom ribbon and wrapping). I'm not including the rose petals. If the pieces are already constructed, then you're getting a good deal.

You really don't get the variety you'd get with a florist, but researching florists in my area was just stressful. The cheapest bridal bouquet (just a bundle of roses with ribbon wrapped around the stems) was $150. I'm not picky about flowers and since they basically have what I'd want, I'm going through costco too. My friends aunt works for them and she said they guarantee their flowers and she's never had a problem. She suggested ordering small centerpieces first if I wanted to test out their life.

@Centerpiece Costco pieces are already constructed. You can call them and customize colors and what they're wrapped in as well.

Alexis, If the bride is on a budget and isn't concerned with having bouquets made up of specific blooms, go fot it.

@Centerpiece I believe that's why some people will choose costco over an independent florist. We simply can't afford the price tag.

I agree The Centerpiece Flowers...with a florist I could have gotten a lot more options in what type of flowers and how the flowers were held together and the overall look. I lusted after a lot of amazing florist flowers when I was planning my wedding. I even sat down with one...but when she quoted me 150ish for my bridal bouquet even though I ADORE flowers I just knew that other options would be a better fit for me. But if you have a big budget and can splurge on flowers I totally would! Smiley smile

I know. I hear it every day. Do what works for your budget. I'm a firm believer in guest experience first -- decor second. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going with the big box stores.

Thank you ladies for all the input! Costco is sounding better and better! I don't need anything special for the flowers and the cheaper, the better!

My MOH used costco for her engagement party and wedding and they were amazing! Looked like they came from a florist! We are doing the same for mine now too! Good luck!

The grower choice of white blooms (150 stems for $99.00) is my backup plan if I cant budget or find the succulents I want. I only need 4 bouquets & 4 GM bout. (sorry spelling) & a few corsages, 10 bouquets is plenty to deconstruct for that (we aren't using any on tables or for decor)

also I have been researching flower prices a lot in my own town (we have 2 florists) & 1 corsage is $89.00, so I don't think that is to much @ all!

Am I correct in assuming that you have to have a membership to Costco to get their flowers? SAMs and BJs are closer to me, so I have memberships at both of them, but not Costco because it's never been convenient...but if it ends up saving that much, I guess it would be worth it to get a membership this year.

I can't speak for Costco, but my florist was around that amount for 6 bouts, a toss bouquet, cake flowers, and 5 bouquets
