Costco Flowers and Centerpieces

Jennifer, on November 29, 2017 at 7:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hi!

Has anyone used Costco for their wedding flowers? Also, any suggestions / alternatives of centerpieces that are cost efficient if flowers aren't an option (besides lanterns)? Any advice would help!!!!!!!!

We are using tons of candles for our tables and also looking into afloral.com for real feel silk flowers opposed to real ones. Flowers aren't my main priority and we aren't doing tons of arrangements besides the bouquets. I thought about buying real flowers in bulk from sams club and arranging my own but to wait until two days before the wedding to try to do that stressed me out lol. I've heard it's hard to keep them refrigerated and cool for the two days you'll probably need to and with so many other last minute things I decided to either go with fake flowers that I can have done way in advance or just paying to hire a florist so I didn't stress. I have friends who did their own flowers and they were pretty but, well, they looked they did them theirselves. Maybe buy some flowers to practice before the wedding before you really commit!

We used Costco bulk flowers and supplemented with additional blooms from a local wholesaler, and the arrangements/bouquets turned out lovely. The quality of the flowers is excellent, and they remained beautiful and blooming for up to two weeks after they were delivered. I did the arrangements myself with some help from my sisters, and I adored them, but would only recommend DIY flowers if you're naturally a DIY-er.

If going the bulk+DIY route, have someone prepared with lots of bins/buckets with water at the ready, and keep in mind you will have to transport them to your venue yourself somehow. I had mine delivered two days before the wedding as recommended, which meant spending hours the days before working on arrangements (which I loved, but I know it's not for everyone!).

Not sure what to suggest as an alternative not knowing the theme/vibe/feel you're going for with your wedding... Pinterest would probably be more helpful than anything I could suggest.

I did not want floral centerpieces, so I went with all candles. No lanterns or wood slabs just simple candles. The entire set up for 20 tables was about 700 dollars from quickcandles.com

I'm using Costco. One of their options is 10 pre-made bouquets. They are in the colors and flowers I want for my wedding. I will still have to prepare them when they come, but hopefully not have to do too much DIY. I will probably combine 2 bouquets to make mine larger. I also plan on making the boutonnieres from one of the bouquets.

I ordered 2 boxes which was WAY too much. I had 15 mason jars on tables and about 8 around the venue and there was still left over from the first box.

Yes, I had to cut them. They are very long, but we’re easy to work withSmiley heart
