Hello all! First time asking a question here. We have a block of rooms at a hotel and one of the things they offer are welcome boxes in the rooms. I am definitely interested in doing them but wanted to get your opinions on if you all think this is a good deal - it's $12/box and I am not sure I can...

Hello all! First time asking a question here. We have a block of rooms at a hotel and one of the things they offer are welcome boxes in the rooms. I am definitely interested in doing them but wanted to get your opinions on if you all think this is a good deal - it's $12/box and I am not sure I can do it for much cheaper and this would definitely be much less hassle. I attached a picture of what the hotel offers. Thanks in advance for your help!

If you're in the early planning stage might I suggest waiting until you know for sure your guests will actually be using your hotel. You wouldn't want to spend the money and not have anyone use a room...would you then be stuck with boxes you can't use??
    Just a suggestion.

I wish the hotel where we have our block did this! I would totally take them up on that

Oh that is a given! I don't even have to let the hotel know until rooms are booked. I do know that over 75% of our guests are OOT and will be staying there but I am definitely still waiting! Smiley smile

I like them-- quite elegant and impressive. If you can swing it, do so. You can get custom labels from vistaprintdotcom and buy shopping kraft bags from Dollar Tree and fill it with the same sorts of items, but don't think it would be much cheaper.

Those boxes are very similar to the boxes I bought for my guests. I bought them from an Etsy shop called PreppingParties. They came with customized labels and matching itineraries. The price is not bad. Here's a comparison: I bought the majority of the items in bulk from Amazon, though a few things I bought from a local grocery store and Walmart. The total came around to $20-25 per box (including the box, label and itineraries). My welcome boxes included:

    - caramel popcorn

    - chili lime peanuts

    - cookies

    - granola bars

    - ponytail holders

    - chapstick

    - makeup remover wipes

    - 2 bottles of water

    - a hangover kit that included Advil, Emergen-C, Shout wipes, bandaids, mouthwash, mints and a granola bar.

The boxes were placed in each guest's room before arrival along with an itinerary, a card addressed specifically to that guest and a bottle of wine.

I would do my own, especially for what you're getting in there's. you can personalize it more. Then you should be able to drop them off at the hotel and they should still hand them out.

I think they look great and are super convenient. Most hotels around where I live charge $8-$10 per box just to deliver them to the guest’s rooms!

I would check with the hotel. When I asked they told me they charge to deliver the welcome bag to their rooms, but its free for them to hand the bag to my guests when they check in at the front desk. He also said they make calls to the rooms for the guest to pick up the welcome bag from the front desk before the option of delivering. It never hurts to ask!

Since you have time between now and your wedding I would say do them yourself!

It is reasonable, I would totally do it! I am looking at $25 per bag and a delivery fee!

I would totally order these! They actually seem pretty reasonable for pricing because it really does add up once you get bulk in each individual item. I’ve seen similar items on Etsy for easily $5-8/more a box. Plus, you don’t have to worry about anything, they’ll all be in the rooms!

It may be cheaper to do a Costco run. I understand if you rather throw money at it, but you can find these boxes and do it yourself too.
