Cost of Tables, Chairs, and Tablecloths

Lacy, on May 4, 2009 at 11:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

I'm looking at my budget and I only have $100 figured in for tablecloths for 17 tables (1 small guest book table, 1 small cake table, 2 long food tables, 10 guest tables, 2 long tables for bridal part and parents, and 1 table to my FH and me) and nothing figured in for the tables and chairs needed for 60 people (I originally had 200 guests because I have a really large family, then I cut it to 100 guests, and now I've cut it to 60 so that only close friends and family will be coming). What is the average price for tables, chairs, and tablecloths?

It varies greatly from place to place. The rental company that I will be using rents tables for between 10-15/each and chairs for 1.50/each. Linens go for around $3--I think, if I remember correctly. Actually, most Round Tables hold between 8-10 guests each... you may not actually need 10 guest tables-- particularly if you are counting yourselves and bridal party as part of the 60 total guest count.

ITA that it depends where your located and many other things. Here is what I'm paying in Southern Ohio:

    96x156 polyester linen $14

    120" round satin $20

    120" round damask $19

    90" round polyester linen $7

white aluminum folding chairs $0.99 (black is cheaper $0.90)

    white resin wood chairs $2.75

    >on top of all that the manager gave me an additional 13% off...so it was actually slightly less than this.

I would say the easiest way to find prices in your area is to google your city with the search term party rentals and then check different vendors price lists. Good luck!

So, Chicago prices are probably higher than most places, but here's what I expect to pay for rentals:

    Large tables, $8.50

Chairs, $2-4.00 (depending on how fancy they are--you can pay a lot more, too)

    Tablecloths, $8.00 (for flat/white)

Don't forget dinner napkins, too: $0.75

I think that puts you around $450.00 for rentals if you were renting in Chicago. See if you can get a catalogue from a few reputable rental houses near you and compare prices. Get references, too. There are some shady rental companies and you don't want to have to deal with them.

    Best of luck!

I have found a local rental company where I can get a 30" round table (seats 2 people/ Bride and Groom) for $7.00, 48" round tables (seats 6) for $8.00, 8' banquet table for $9, and white resin padded folding chairs for $2.10 each. They rent linens anywhere from $8.00-$14.00 each. Therefore, my tables will cost me $119, chairs (since my ceremony and reception are both outdoors in the same location, I decided on doubling the chairs instead of having to move the chairs from the ceremony to the tables. That just seems tacky to me.) for $226.80. I haven't been able to figure up my cost of linens because I can't figure out which linens go with which tables.

Speaking of which, how can I tell which tablecloth goes with which table? The tables come in measurements like 30" and 48". The linens, however, come in measurements like 132 round 6' floor and 120 round 5' floor. So how do I know which linen goes with which table?

I'm paying $7 for my white linens with a top square in red.

The chairs and tables are already included with the venue

You may be able to buy used [a href="http://www.trendexhome.com/"]tablecloths[/a] from either this forum, other forums, or ebay as well. Lots of people buy them and don't have much use for them after the wedding is over. They sell them off to recoup a little money, but the ones I've seen have been fairly reasonable in price.

    Good Luck

Prices for round tablecloths will vary depending on the size of your guest tables starting at 70 inch round tablecloths. Based on this round tablecloth size guide http://www.70roundtablecloth.com/tablecloth-sizes.html, you probably need 102 inch round tablecloth. Renting is an option, but you may want to consider purchasing your tablecloths wholesale. After the wedding, resell your linen on eBay, Craigslist, or other local classified listing. If you decide to resell, your best chance is to purchase a white, ivory, or neutral color round tablecloth.

My brother's wedding had even a less budget for tablecloths but he managed it at http://www.yescomusa.com/home.php?cat=137 ! Their price is definitely the lowest in the market and have many choices of sizes. Pay a visit and you'll find what you need.
