Cost of shuttle

Megan, on November 19, 2017 at 7:08 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

We are having our wedding in the northern Virginia area. What do you think we can expect to spend if we want a shuttle to pick guests up and drop them back off at their hotels at the end of the night?

Our ceremony and venue are at the same location. I feel it's a bit ridiculous that we're going to have to pay for the whole night when the drivers will be doing about an hours worth of work, but I know that's how many of these places operate.

What do you think we can expect to pay?

You have a lot of choices so the price range is pretty large, too. UberXL or contacting a local cab company could get you a small fleet of 6-8 passenger vehicles or you could rent one of those super sweet vintage buses. I think you have to let your fingers do the walking and call for some quotes.

I'm looking in PA and I've gotten a wide range of quotes. Reach out to companies and be sure to read reviews!

So I'm in the DMV area and am looking at A Touch of Class Limousines; they have options for just a couple of hours, four hour block, the ability to add hours, etc all with different types of shuttles and limos. They also have all the prices for each vehicle listed. Hope that helps!

I'm in central VA, and when I was looking into this, I was getting quotes that averaged ~$1000 per shuttle. The priced ranged depending on how many people each one could carry. I ultimately couldn't justify this cost.

In IA, where costs tend to be a little lower than average, we spent about $700 for one that would run several trips. We only needed one bus because the wedding was small, and it was a very plain city-style bus. More busses or something nicer will definitely make it more expensive.

We spent 1600 on the shuttle for the whole day. It will end up making 7-8 round trips by the end of the night.

We're using First Student (they are national) for shuttles. If you don't care about using school busses I'd reach out to your local office. They told me I'm close enough to schedule two separate trips meaning I won't have to pay for the down time during the ceremony and reception. I'm in MA and I believe its just about $125/hour with a two hour min each way. Even with paying for the extra time during drop off and pick up its significantly cheaper.

I'm in NOVA, we have been quoted from $1600-$2500, but have 150 guests and would need two shuttles. We are having to forego a shuttle for that reason.

Long Island, was told $150 an hour for the day. So at about 7 hours that's just over $1000. Then we need to tip. Not sure if we pay for a meal for him too, will ask my venue.
