How much did you pay for a makeup artist to do a trial? I know cost probably varies depending on where you live, I live in California. The Mua I am trying out is charging $50. I was just curious to see if this is around normal or close to what you paid. Her wedding day charge is $65 for the bride...

Her wedding day charge is $65 for the bride and $55 for all others. I have never had my makeup professionally done, I am good at doing my own. Because I am a first timer, I'm not sure what normal prices are. Her prices seem very reasonable....What are you all paying for a trial & wedding day makeup?

MUAs in my area charge between $250-$400 for bridal makeup, and that usually includes a trial. Just a trial is about $125. Bridesmaid makeup is usually $75-$125.

Everything I have found near me in Dallas, is upwards of $300 for day of. Trials are priced about $150. Currently searching out freelance artists, as they may be cheaper(hopefully) than a company.

My trial in Oregon was 45. Once I got to the appointment she said if I booked with her the trial amount would go toward the cost of the the day of which was a nice surprise!

    I paid $160 for a hair/makeup trial in OKC. Day-of was $205 + tip. And well-worth it, because I felt amazing.

That's a good price! I think for me, the trial was maybe $10 less than the real deal. It was either the same price or very close to it.

As a makeup artist, it is important to remember that although it is "just a trial" your makeup artist is still travelling, using the same amount of products, and often spending more time with you during your trial than on your actual wedding day. For this reason I charge the same price for a trial as I would for a single bride on her wedding day. After all, the service is the same, the only difference is where you're going after your makeup is done! And let's say I discount the trial, who is to say you're not just getting your makeup done for fun and never booking me again? Try to see it from that perspective.
