Cost of Adding on Corset Back?

Rachel, on June 16, 2018 at 1:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hi everyone!

I am getting married this October. I picked out my dress from David's Bridal in February and was told by the stylist to order a size 12. I picked up the dress at the end of May and it's gorgeous, but the thing worrying me is that it only fits first thing in the morning before I've eaten anything.

I've been doing some exercising and eating much healthier, and I have lost some weight. However, I'm worried about the way it will fit the day of, both in general and after I've eaten the dinner. I have been considering adding on a corset back (the dress has a zipper back right now) just as some reassurance, but my mom doesn't think it will be necessary.

I'm still thinking it over and my alteration appointment isn't until August, but I wanted to hear from you all who have added on corset backs to your dresses via David's Bridal? What was the cost? Was it worth it come the big day?

Mine was $150 I think. I had to because my dress no longer zipped at 8 weeks pregnant. I was 11 weeks at the wedding. It was totally worth it in my case. I think you can wait a few more months before deciding. I called 5 weeks before my wedding and they were able to fit me in and didn’t charge me a rush fee at all.

Did you do it at DB or somewhere else? I can no longer fit my dress from there since I like to eat 😂

Hi Rachel! Congrats on your engagement and welcome to WeddingWire! Smiley heart

You are going to look gorgeous on your wedding day. Whatever will make you the most comfortable is the right choice and will be worth it.

David's Bridal is really great about alterations, fittings, and finishing dresses on time. So, when you go for your appointment in August you can definitely ask for an estimate of how much a corset back might cost and decide from there!

If you need help or have any questions in any of your wedding planning endeavors, please don't hesitate to connect or post a discussion. We are always happy to help!
