Corset for buttons?

I'm definitely not a seamstress, but swapping out the corset for buttons sounds like it would have the opposite effect of what you want. Corsets are typically good for those who might fluctuate by a few pounds (up or down) before the wedding since they're adjustable. Buttons are pretty much set in place and don't allow for any give. I would also think that removing the corset and adding buttons would be more expensive than just taking the dress in an inch or two.

Hey Krystin! I would consult your seamstress about this. Similar to Caytlyn, I would have thought that a corset back would allow you to tighten the dress if weight loss occurred without it having been altered.

What is the rest of your dress like?

This was me in my dress a month ago. I had my second fitting yesterday and the corset is tightened as much as it can be. I've lost too much weight and there's no way to tighten the back more without adding buttons or taking in the sides.

Hi! She's hemmed and scheduled for pick up 2 days before the wedding I haven't needed to take it in yet but its getting close. I will probably go in to try it on once more maybe 2 weeks or so before the wedding just to make sure.
