corsages? Mussy Tussy? What are your MOB and MOG's flowers

Vicki, on September 19, 2014 at 1:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

There are so many choices for flowers, corsages, etc. What is current to do? Carry a single flower? What are you doing?

Our moms carried a nose gay (small bouquet). Here's a pic (both of my parents walked me down the aisle)

I'll be giving them a corsage, probably wrist so they dont have to pin it to a dress and can set it down if they want.

Moms get a wrist corsage. The florist told me they don't do the one with the pin because it will ruin the dress. Maid of honor and bridesmaids get a bouquet.

Neither, both my mom and stepmom thought corsages made them look old fashioned. They both prefer no flowers. MOG is no longer with us so not a concern.

Ours will not have/wear anything. They said they would rather go without.

Mussy tussy is a very small bouquet. Just learned that term myself :o) While searching for ideas.

My parents are nearly 70, so they're expecting my mom to have a corsage, however I think they look old fashioned... I have been toying with the nosegay idea, but my mom is partly disabled and needs to be hands-free.

If your MOB/MOG are in their 50's, I'd go with nosegay (tiny bouquet). That way they can dry them and keep them as a souvineer, they won't get mashed every time they hug someone, and won't deal with the wrist corsage shedding petals all night. (Confession: I hated wearing them for proms, so I don't want to do them for other people.)

We're not doing flowers for the MOB or MOG (MOG actually isn't going to the wedding). I asked my mom if she was okay with the plan, and she said definitely - she thought they were a waste of money anyways. =)

They each like the look of flowers on a clutch. I'm on my phone so I can't upload a picture of it. You can find them on Pinterest.

I am making my Mother's wrist corsage at this very moment if I don't kill it first. It's frustrating me to say the least.

I came to this thread to find out what a mussy tussy was...not nearly as interesting as I thought it would be.

We did corsages for Andre's mom, Andre's sisters, and our grandmas. My dad, Andre's grandpa, and my brothers got matching boutonnieres. Andre's dad and my sister were part of the wedding party so they got WP flowers.

The corsages that my florist does come on these beautiful silver bracelets that you squeeze to tighten around your wrist. Everyone loved them and, honestly, I almost wished I had gotten to wear one too!

For my daughter's wedding each of the mother's carried a single rose. The grandmother's had corsages.
