Corsage & Boutonniere

Caila, on November 26, 2019 at 9:23 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

How did you make your corsage? I am stuck on what to use to go around the wrist... I have seen people use ribbon or burlap. Anyone have suggestions? or pictures?

If you did boutonniere's as well, did you just wrap them with floral tape? Pictures of those too. Thanks!

Will your florist not make them for you?

Our florist put our corsages on "slap bands". We told her the color to use to go with our mother and grandmothers dresses and it worked out perfectly. I'm not sure how she made the bouts, but they looked just like every other bout I had ever seen.

I am doing them myself. I got them from sola wood flowers and they don't put them together for you. I was just looking for ideas on how other people made theirs!

Gotcha. Look into the slap band option for corsages. It looked really good and was super easy to put on and stay on!

Why not use the actual elastic bands for corsages that they sell at Michael’s or hobby lobby or Walmart. If not, you can use ribbon or any other material that will fit around the wrist.

I did all sola flowers and used slap bands for the corsages. I stemmed the flowers for the boutonnieres and just cut them down to the length I wanted. After I got it assembled I wrapped it in ribbon.

We didn’t do corsages but did hoops for the mothers/grandmothers. For the boutonnières, we wrapped in floral wire first (we hated the tape) then wrapped in ribbon and hot glued it at the back.
