Correct rsvp by date?

Holly, on December 19, 2019 at 9:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
I have a digital proof of my invitations that I’m looking over before finalizing. I’m wondering if I chose the right date for the RSVP-by date? Wedding is June 13, 2020. “Guarantee minimum headcount” is due to the caterer 30 days before the wedding. I put RSVP by May 13, 2020 on the invite draft. Should I add on more time?

One to two weeks before your final headcount is due is ideal.

I would make it a little earlier than May 13. Usually the RSVP date is about 1-2 weeks before your final numbers are due and if I counted right, that date is like 31 days before the wedding? I would make it at least a week earlier.

I would add a bit more time in as that is pretty much 30 days prior and might need time to follow up with people that don't rsvp. I would give yourself a week so I would make the deadline a week earlier.

Ok thanks! I’m trying to decide between May 1st and May 4th...can’t believe how much I’m overthinking this 😂

Most people won't send it back until right up to the date you put on your invitations. I would add on extra time so those last-minute senders won't miss out.

I would do May 1st to be safe (and that's an easy RSVP date for people to remember).
