Coronavirus

Has anyone else heard of dress designers having issues because of coronavirus? My dress is ordered from California (Casablanca) and my bridesmaids’ dresses apparently will not be a problem because they ordered last week (fingers crossed), but my mom went today to get a Montage dress and the bridal shop said they’d have to see tomorrow if they could get it because of the coronavirus! If they have it in stock, it’ll be fine. If they have to make it, they won’t allow her to order it because the timeline is unknown!
I feel so badly, as some of you may have seen I had some trouble finding bridesmaid dresses so I was asking my mom to wait to get the dress she loves to make sure it went well with the bridesmaids’ dresses, but then I just said “whatever makes you happy” (it’s almost the same color as the bridesmaids but very different style).
Ugh - I never realized all these non-bride dresses would cause me so much stress! My mom is fine with it but I just want her to be happy since she wasn’t with her dress from my sister’s wedding.

I just spoke to my bridal store on Thursday and they said many of the high end bridal lines have ceased production in china (as well as the purchase of materials from China) as a safety measure until the virus is contained. She told me they were hoping to begin buying & production again by the end of March

Yikes now I’m worried that the Morilee shop just hasn’t said anything yet. The bridesmaid dresses have been such a stress for me already.
Friends in China have said that people are under self quarantine, so I’m guessing even companies that are operating aren’t truly operating to their norm.

I ordered my wedding dress on 2/15 and had previously been told my bridesmaids could order no later than 5/15. We’ll when I ordered mine they told me we have to order BM by 4/1 to ensure delivery because of it. I think a lot of people may find themselves in a predicament because of this.

    HI -

I called my bridal salon to ensure that my dress and bridesmaid dresses would arrive as expected . I ordered my Stella York Dress in September 2019 , Bill levkoff bridesmaid dresses in December of 2019 , they said that i should not have an issue with my dress shipping ( which did not settle to well) and that my bridesmaids dresses will be delayed with no new expected ship date given ! It looks like all salons are having issues , and certain designers really affected .

Companies are ceasing ordering from China as an abundance of caution. Also, some China companies sub-suppliers may be dependent on deliveries from the Wuhun region & lead times would be affected.

I work in supply management for a company that does a lot of work with China. The biggest delays we're seeing right now are due to people not able to go back to work. They had extended the Lunar New Year to help fight the spread of the disease. Factories in the heart of the epidemic are having to get government approval to go back to work. Most are starting to get back up and running this week and next. Due to the forced closings and having to cancel some sailings, we are seeing a 2-3 delay in our materials. Now that the virus is starting to get contained, things are slowly but surely opening back up. Your shops will error on the side of caution, but orders should only be delayed a few weeks to a month.

Oh no! I also ordered Bill Levkoff bridesmaids dresses. Fear they definitely won’t be here in time with the delay. Getting married August 2020 and ordered them in Jan. 2020 🙈
