What is your guys thoughts on two weddings?
It would be one intimate and one large ceremony about a year apart.
We have decided to postpone our large May 2020 wedding because of the coronavirus. However we keep throwing the idea of getting married now with just our parents and siblings present and still doing the large ceremony and reception in May 2021. Any thoughts or concerns on this?
Thank you.

That’s what we decided to to. We eloped last May and were having our real wedding this June but have had to cancel due to Covid-19. One of my girlfriends did the same. Their wedding in Jamaica was so amazing and heartfelt even though they were already legally married months earlier.

I think it’s fine as long as you’re honest with your guests that the event they’re attending isn’t a wedding and you’re already married.

I love the idea. Don't let Covid make you wait to start your new union. Have a small intimate ceremony. save extra money and plan it down to the "t" what you want your celebration to look like. We all deserve something to look forward to and to celebrate Love and Life as we all watched its not guaranteed to any of us.

Hi Brittnee! I love that idea, and it's what a lot of couples affected by Covid-19 are planning on doing! Just double check that your private ceremony in May is still allowed by local guidelines, and that you'll be able to apply for a marriage license from your county clerk. In some places like LA, the county offices are closed - so I'd definitely call your local office and see how early you can apply!
