Breanna, on April 24, 2020 at 8:46 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
Hello Ladies,

My original date was June 6th 2020 but due to recent events I had to postpone. My new date is August 22nd 2020. I live in NYS where our cases seem to be really high but slowly going down! What’s everyone doing!? Postponing? Canceling? I’m worried about my new date!!? HELP!!

I’m Aug 22 in NYS as well! Er, I should say we were supposed to do it in May and postponed to August. I feel like the NY gov is really moving cautiously and mentioned opening different parts of the state in different phases so that’s encouraging for me at least. Our wedding is in Ulster county so not too far from NYC but also juuuuust far enough we hope? As a backup we are thinking about reducing our guest list if needed. I agree it’s so hard having so much uncertainty. Postponing another year is something I really don’t want to do - I’m 32 and want to start having kids, and my FH and I have been together 6 years now. Praying this new date works. We are feeling cautiously optimistic! Hang in there and try to enjoy the small victories NY is starting to see Smiley smile

Our wedding is in Buffalo! we have some high numbers right now but just starting to decline! I’m hoping by August we will be ok! My fiancé and I have been together 7.5 years. Engaged for 2 years and we really don’t want to wait either! We have a big guest list around 230 people so I’m praying I can keep it!

Our wedding date was July 11 but our venue informed us today that they are not having events until after July. So we are figuring out what to do because the venue is pretty booked solid through the rest of the year and my work schedule is super busy after summer. So forced to postpone.

I live in LI. Our original date was for this Sunday and we postponed it until July 23rd. However, seeing how things are unraveling, we decided to postpone once again until October. Unfortunately, the only way to get married this year was to pick a Thursday 😫. I would say to monitor how things are progressing by late May/early June. I would also suggest that you talk to your venue and ask for alternatives dates just as a safety net. I really do pray that things are in a much better place by then and they lift majority of restrictions by then. Wishing you all the best!

Our wedding is in Buffalo too! It was supposed to be May 30th but we postponed to July 18th. We are worried, our guest list is around 240. FH & I just sat down and tried to get our guest list down to 150, which we were able to do, but it would be family only. I feel like things will be starting to open back up by the summer, but I think there might be guidelines for large gatherings so i'm just trying to weigh my options! This is so difficult. Hope your day can go as planned!! Hugs!
